  • Frozen steel cut oatmeal from Trader Joe's is my go-to breakfast every single morning. I sprinkle a little brown sugar and chia seeds on top to give it a little extra crunch.
  • Here goes... Starting weight November 24, 2015 [187]. Down 50 pounds as of today to 137. I'm 5'4" and my original goal was to be at 125. I'm now in all tops (from XL) to a size 4 shorts and pants from a 10/12. The happiest I've been in years. I've been walking/running 5-6 miles a day. Also work out with my Total Body gym.…
  • I boil a dozen eggs at the beginning of the week. For a quick snack on-the-go I'll take a boiled egg and a half cup of Jimmy Dean's cooked turkey sausage and mix together in a ziplock bag. Tape a plastic spoon to the bag and I'm good to go. 160 calorie snack that's packed with good protein.
  • I've lost an average human leg and need to lose a sperm whale's brain and I'm good to go!
  • I'm 58 and trust me when I say I've joined every gym, worked with personal trainers and paid beaucoup bucks going to "boot camps." I've adopted many of the things I've learned from all three and workout from home with daily six mile walk/run combination and my Total Gym. If you have the space for a TG I highly recommend…

If you're just starting your weight loss plan then good for you. But I believe any change (personal or professional) has to first come from…
  • Eat To Live had been a game-changer for me.
  • The thing that's helped me most is drinking Pellegrino sparkling water. It fills me up more than tap or filtered water because of the carbonation. Have apple slices on hand for those moments as well. I used to wake up and have salty cravings and would immediately go for a bag of kettle chips; now I go for zero calorie…
  • When I go out I ask for a club soda with lime. I still feel like I have a drink in my hand without the empty calories. I've also done a half and half thing mixing 4oz of club soda with 4oz of Riesling or other white wine.
  • So glad you're enjoying Susan's blog. When you have time look at some of her earliest entries. Very inspiring.
  • What got me motivated was seeing a photo of myself from Christmas. I've been in denial for several years because no one ever brought it up. I'm fortunate to have a husband that loves me heavier or thinner. I am lucky as heck to have a loving younger (fitter/thin) sister. She is like my life coach. We're best friends and…
