I'm away from a PC until tonight and can't update on a mobile device. Do you mind if I post my Day 4 steps here? I want to be sure they're counted. I did 7988 for Day 4. Thanks!!

Here are my shoes -- Brooks Glycerin 12 in Ombre: They're actually running shoes (and I don't run...yet), but I LOOOOVE them. I can't say I did any research before buying them. Here's basically what happened: 1. I went into a sports store. 2. I saw a 66% off table. 3. I saw pink and orange (my favorite colors) and my size…

Maybe I shouldn't have used the term "hard way" or insinuated an "easy way" -- this is a tough battle for all, no matter which way we choose to fight. I've just had some bad experiences with family members in my past who've chosen surgery. I'm letting those experiences color my view. My apologies, everyone. But I've been…

I do the same, 1cand. :) I find the Fitbit estimates to be more accurate. I was having lots of over-estimates when I previously used MapMyWalk and imported that data into MFP. I try to stay at or slightly under my calorie budget, but if I do a lot of activity, I also find myself eating back more of the exercise calories.

You guys are all so great about nutrition. I'm not there yet -- just staying under on calories but managing to eat my normal foods in smaller quantities. Maybe I'm a little scared.

I did a 15 minute walk at my son's school and then 30 minutes after dinner. Also played with the kids at the park. A good kind of tired day.

I just now got to put in my Day 2 steps. Sorry! Busy Sunday.

2mi walk this afternoon. First time I walked that far without stopping since, well...ever.

Please stick with us? We're all going to have low days, and just a few days until you feel better will be fine since it's a month-long challenge.

The weather here was great -- 70F and breezy, so I got in a 35 minute/1.5 mile walk and then 45 minutes chasing my toddler around the park. He still needs me within arm's reach to be sure he doesn't tumble, so I get lots of steps thanks to him.

Woohoo, Pepper! That's super inspiring!

Yay for everyone! I'm also on track today, and have some extra calories left for dinner tonight. Might get seconds on meat. :)
-
Me too! Or maybe I need to find better socks. Shopping trip!
-
I did two 20-minute walks today, but slower than usual due to a blister on my foot.

I see my name now -- thanks!

So...I was originally scared of such a commitment, but I thought on it overnight -- and what the heck? Let's do this! I began with Feb 2016.
-
We totally can do this! I checked, but don't see a column yet with my name. I'll check back later today -- no rush. :)
-
Thanks! I've never participated in a challenge before, so I'm excited. Especially since you all seem so encouraging and friendly!

There's still birthday cake in the fridge, and I had two pieces yesterday. :( I'm seriously thinking of just throwing the rest in the garbage to keep myself from eating it. But it's a struggle because, 1) I love cake, and 2) I hate waste.

May I join too? :)

Hi there -- newbie here, but with good news to report. I got a Fitbit for my birthday earlier this month and had been averaging 6000 steps daily. I decided this week to totally rock it and have made 10,000 steps for the past three days. It included taking my toddler out in the drizzling rain the past two days, but we did…

I also want to get to 300 for my first mini-goal -- just 9 lbs away. :) And an NSV goal: I ordered my usual 2XL tshirt for an event on June 6. I'd love to have to trade it in for just an XL. That's another mini-goal on this long journey.
