You would waste less time counting calories rather than trying to convert everything into points (which is a different type of calorie counting). As far as faster progress, I don't think it matters.

Oooo...donuts are my kryptonite, too.

I don't know about the OP, but for some reason, I can't undertake an exercise program until I have my food intake under control. It's a mental/emotional energy thing.

The endorphin rush from binge eating and stuffing myself to the gills. I really do miss it sometimes.

Maybe you could buy the tiny containers of ice cream and get tiny spoons to match. Eat it slowly and mindfully savor every bite. Sometimes the visual cue of a full container (bowl, plate, carton) no matter what size, plus the number of repetitions to eat the food (small spoon vs large) can signal the brain that you've had…

I'm thankful for the progress that I've made so far and for the support of my husband and MFP community.

Leaving the doctor's office with blood work numbers all in the green, when last fall, they were littered with red and yellow!

I exercise as soon as I roll out of bed, trying to get it done before the kids wake up, so I don't eat anything before I workout. I eat breakfast with my kids right after I'm done. My go to for breakfast is a bowl of oatmeal with blueberries, walnuts, and flaxseed meal and a plate of steam sautéed red onions, mushrooms,…

I recently switched to a whole food plant based (vegan) diet because my blood work numbers were awful last fall. I didn't want to go on meds so I changed my diet instead and started exercising. Since February I've lost 30 pounds. But even better, I went to the doctor to follow up on my March blood draw, and all my numbers…

I'm a mom, too. I understand how hard it can be @mumbles2013 . I once had 3 kids 3 and under. I now have 6 kids, and I know why people stop at 2--2 is the hardest! But you have to make proper meals for them, so you might as well make one for yourself and eat together. Yes, you may have to scarf down your food in under five…

Way to take responsibility for your own health! You mention that maintaining weight is just as challenging as losing weight. In what way? What keeps you motivated?

I'll be starting my fourth week of P90X3. I plan on tightening up my diet. Hoping to lose another 10 pounds or so. But with only 40 pounds to goal weight, that might be too ambitious, and I'm okay if I don't hit goal. Also, I'd like to go from a size 16 to a size 14 by the end of the challenge.

I grew up a member of the Clean Your Plate Club and was always picked second to last in gym class. But I really didn't have weight issues until I got a job at McDonald's my senior year of high school. Two years there, and then a year as a bank teller surrounded by fast food joints within walking distance and my weight…
