Alcohol in in general is NOT good for fat loss as the body will use that as fuel first instead of burning fat. If you "black out" on a regular basis your slowly poisoning yourself and probably need more help than we or any gym can provide.

Fat does not cause insulin resistance and if you're going low carb try doing more like 10% of your intake or less for a week. 20 grams a day to get fat loss in gear as far as Atkins goes.
