  • If he is grossed out by any part of your body then he's got issues, not you.
  • sounds to me like you've found an excellent choice that keeps you on track, carbs are definitely not the enemy, especially if they help keep you from grabbing candy and you enjoy them. (I feel you, my office is the same way! today there is literally chocolate everywhere, eek!)
  • if it works for your goals then absolutely! I love oatmeal and find it keeps me full and happy until my next meal. Is there a reason you think it's not a healthy choice?
  • vitamin d - Canadian trying to make it through winter, lol! b12 - I am vegan multi - I don't always eat the best so I like to make sure I round out my daily vitamins greens powder - I don't always eat the best so I like to make sure I get my greens (not taken all the time)
  • The only way I will stick with something is if I like it. I try not to force myself to do exercise I really dislike, because then I lose motivation to keep at it. Wishing you all the best, Katie!!
  • A few years ago I was walking on a treadmill talking to my friend on the machine next to me.... and then I was suddenly off the machine standing at the back on the ground like a complete tool. I thankfully didn't fall or hurt myself but I just magically walked off a treadmill by being distracted, lol!
  • I don't have set meal times, I normally eat when I am hungry or have the time. I eat breakfast, lunch and snacks at work - if I go to the gym at work over my "lunch" break then I just eat at my desk whenever I am hungry. Dinner depends on when I get home - some days I eat dinner at 5pm, others it's 8pm.
  • I would also say, besides eating more often, try and pick more calorie dense foods (nuts, dried fruit, nut butter, avocado etc)
  • I think it means to make your weight oz then half, so if she weighs 200lbs, 200 oz of water, or a goal of 100 oz per day
  • This is about the popular sweetener used in sodas, a lot of the references are studies specific to soda - you might find something useful there http://nutritionfacts.org/video/does-aspartame-cause-cancer/ Video Sources Huff J, LaDou J. • Hey from big city Alberta! Congrats on your loss so far, that is fantastic work you've done
  • I really like the LeanFit Complete Green Protein in Vanilla Bean, I find the texture great and it blends easily - it's also sold at Costco in Canada so very affordable. I also think Vega is nasty. I bought Vegan Freak Chocolate last week but haven't tried it yet, it smells really good so I have my fingers crossed!
  • I really enjoy my actifry, I have had it for years and use it for plenty of things on a regular basis. I find that even though it says add a certain amount of oil, that most things turn out tasty without the oil so I don't add it. Plus it all comes apart easily and almost all of it can go in the dishwasher. Easy clean up…
  • welcome and wishing you all the best in your journey!
  • I am currently eating toast with avocado mashed on it. DELICIOUS!
  • Hi Jen - I am just starting on raw - nice to meet you! Day one. Hope that things are going well for you! :D
  • Welcome! My advice is to start small - decide on something you want to cut out or limit and then build on that (once you've got your first mini goal down) Breaking down your goals into small achievable steps will keep you motivated and make the whole process less overwhelming. (Could be as simple as I will have 1 pop a day…
  • This is amazing - we have to believe in ourselves! Great lesson
  • Start small! Don't overwhelm or be too hard on yourself - that is my advice. If you were active as a teen and there are some things you still enjoy, start being more active again. That will make a bigger impact than you think. I have always found that being active makes me want to eat less junk - I don't want to ruin the…
  • Beans are amazing and have huge health benefits (fiber, protein, carbs, minerals and vitamins) they are also super inexpensive! People have issues digesting them often because of high fiber content, the normal american diet doesn't have significant fiber so when you eat beans you are possibly ingesting much more fiber than…
  • so far nothing raw but i will be having a salad tonight - I enjoyed a couple cups of sauteed spinach with lunch!
  • I agree with this, it would be next to impossible to hit zero on those categories. Minimal amounts of both depending on the veg/protein but carbs and fat would still be there to some degree. Are you willing to swap a meal that the trainer chose for later in the day and use that to build your breakfast instead? That could…
  • Be active with your children, take them to the park and play with them... that's exercise for you too. Run and play tag in the yard, bike ride, swim, running with them in a stroller etc. Use your kids as your weights to do body weight exercises - holding them while you do squats, pushing them up in the air over your head…
  • I added you!
  • Quick reference with amounts of protein/serving included There are also vegetarian items on the list but those are ***'d
  • my mother in law has lost about 40lbs in the last 5 months, one of her good friends asked her "what are you trying to do?" as though she was showing up her friends or being ridiculous in her attempts to get healthy (which she is not, she is just putting in the work needed to get her health back). My advice to her and to…
  • I find that wiggling my toes in the grass helps relieve stress and makes me generally feel better after a long day in the office, nature and I enjoy one-another's company. Other than that... which I think is positive enough in itself.... I think it's what we make of it - free radical neutralization or not.
  • For the record, and I speak from experience, going vegan does not equal magical weight loss. I did it for the animals and the environment - I gained weight initially and am just now starting to finally figure things out for myself so that I can start losing weight again. Vegan is also the wrong word. Unless you are giving…
  • Exercise is literally the ONLY thing that I have found manages my asthma effectively. I had to start slow, walking, and built from there, a little longer each day and a little faster each day. I found it extremely important to also really listen to my body and learn when I was out of breath from being overweight and out of…
