That used to happen to me when I did certain poses...I realized (most likely) I was compressing my phrenic nerve when I was doing poses that require neck extension, which was causing a sudden bout of nausea. Maybe this is happening to you? Take it easy on the neck extension next class and see if that helps.

Calories can become very value laden! Try to think of a calorie as what it is...a unit of energy, which are not good or bad. Your body needs the energy to do things like keep your heart beating and all other metabolic processes. Try to separate the emotional part from it maybe?

Was it a hip replacement? If so, you want to be very careful coming into something like yoga where you're going to be doing a lot of external/internal rotation, abduction and adduction. Registered Nurse here...if you're scale is not broken you need to see a doctor right away. You could be having a cardiac problem.
