The only way a certain food - in and of itself - can help you to lose weight is if it helps you to remain satisfied, while not causing you to go over your daily calories. There are no magic bullets when it comes to WL. I LOVE the stuff, but my WL success wasn't a product of it. Eating good tasty filling food that I liked…

I lost 105 of my 110 pounds on WW. It's not that different than calorie counting really. They just calculate that for you behind the scenes and assign a SP value to food items. The current plan places a rediculously high SP penalty to all sugar laden foods and most carbs though. For some folks that was a HUGE issue. The…

Been there, too! But it's not wasted. You've learned many life lessons since your first journey through WL Land, and you can apply them to THIS leg of the journey. THIS time you have the knowledge and will to succeed, and you will.

5'7" and 52 yr Started at 275 - Goal weight was 170. It was set with my Dr. based on my age and the amount of extra skin I would end up with. "Healthy Weight" BMI is 158. Currently I'm at 165 and deciding if I want to go for 155. I'm pretty content where I am.

I wake up starving, and always need to eat a solid breakfast. I also have a problem with binging, so my food during the day is optimized to prevent getting hungry, which often triggers binge thinking. I eat my last little meal at 8 pm when I get home from work. No problem losing weight if I stick to my planned calories.…

That's why this is all so tough. It's so different for everyone. But you can't fail if you keep on going.

Everyone is completely different here. I'm down 110 pounds, myself, and working on how to keep it off. The term "treat" can mean so many things. For me, my DAILY "treat" is a nice coffee with sugar free creamer and a little stevia. The hot/sweet combo satisfies the small cravings for sweets that I have. I allow myself…

I've gained and lost and regained over 50 pounds 3 times in the last 8 years. And the only reason I failed in the past is because I stopped doing the things that made me successful in losing the weight. This time I have actually reached goal and have maintained it for 5 months. Down 110 pounds. Weighing 3-4 times a week is…

Everyone handles this differently. For me, I cut out most empty snacks and sugary things, only adding them back in if they were WORTH IT. (Homemade brownies!!) And my tastes changed accordingly, over time. This worked for me, but isn't a fix for everyone. By eating more often, and eating a mix of good protein, high fiber…

I do, but try never to have more than one at a time. If they start to turn into 2 or 3 day stretches, that's when the danger starts for me. I often have my lowest Weigh-Ins during the week after a "eat everything" day, as long as I get right back on track. Odd how that works,

I'm 5 pounds below Goal (which was a little high), and can't decide if I want to lose more, or just maintain. So far, I have maintained below goal for 4 months, which is a first. It's a little scary, but I weigh in every 3-4 days, and have stopped scale creep several times now, so I KNOW I can do it. Changing the mindset…

I was feeling down today. Financial issues, other things, and I had stood in front of the mirror and taken stock of all the loose skin that losing 110 pounds on a 52 year old body has left me with. Then, as I was folding the laundry, I grabbed a pair of soft denim jeans that - for a moment - I couldn't tell if they were my…

I started with WW at 51. For the 4th time. Something just clicked this time, and I promised myself that THIS time I would not quit. And I didn't. If I can drop 108 pounds in a year with very little extra exercise, anyone can. All it takes is sticking with it, pushing through the tough spots, and figuring out how to make…

It's been a tough journey but so worth it.

I yo-yo-ed several times over the last ten years, but this time was different. Terrible foot and knee pain. Couldn't breathe at night. Couldn't afford the deductible for WL surgery. So I decided to try one more time. The only promise I made was to not quit this time. I've lost 108 pounds over 14 months and have maintained…

The answer is simple. Stop doing it. Sometimes things are harder when we tell ourselves "NO!". Try having a dialogue with yourself BEFORE you normally eat in front of the TV. Don't tell yourself what you can't do, but set a plan you WILL do. Like eating dinner at the table before the TV goes on. Sometimes what it takes is…

I lost the vast majority of my 107 pound WL with NO added exercise. Just the extra movement that naturally happens when you stop carrying around so many unwanted pounds. For my health, I joined a gym after losing 90 pounds, to build some strength and endurance. My WL didn't change at all with the added movement, but I FELT…

I think the confusion with CICO vrs ratios of fat/carb/protein has more to do with satiety than anything else, and how content and happy we are on ANY eating regimen is the key to success. We can argue about it all day long, but in the end, it's almost just semantics. Yes, to lose weight, you need to eat at a deficit. But…

For me, a "cheat DAY" means no WL that week, so I rarely do that. If it's a special holiday I might eat what I choose, but I understand that this will mean no WL that week. My general rule is that while there are no cheat DAYS, I can and will indulge in occasional, untracked social eating. One meal every 1-2 weeks. It…

If you lose a lot of weight, you will have some. If you lose a TON of weight, you'll have a lot! But, guess what? It was there at the start. It was just filled with the fat that made you unhappy, unhealthy, or even sick. That fat was harming you in a way that the loose skin never can, and it was visible in a way that loose…

For the first 80 pounds I did no extra exercise at all. Eventually I started going to s gym 2x a week and walking more. I've lost 107

Good stuff here Thanks!

The trick will be staying mindful enough to keep the weight off. A work in progress.

Sometimes this just happens, even when we are doing everything right. I would t ide it out g or a week or two. If you are still stalled or off track, switch things up. Eat more or less some days. Eat differant things. Cut salt. Cut carbs a bit. These little blips are normal. And they pass.

I don't know all the science, but if I, as a post menopausAL. 51 yr old woman can lose 107 lbs in 16 months with little added exercise, ANYONE can. And my WL journey has been anything but easy or smooth sailing. All it takes is a commitment never to stop trying.

Lost most of my weight ei ty h no added exercise. As my ability to move increased, I joined a gym and go a couple of times a week. Start slow and build a routine you LIKE.

I eat 4 to 5 smallish meals a day, but no empty snack foods. If I allow myself to get hungry, I binge, so this works for me.
