  • Eat at the most calories you can while still steadily losing weight. If you are losing nicely ar 1700 or 1600, dont randomly drop to 1500 just to lose faster. Its not a race, and you will never win in the long run if you are miserable. That said, also look at what you are eating. Enough fiber there? Protien? Need a few…
  • Also there are places online like Proboards and even Facebook with groups you can join. Even online they help. I lost most of my weight With WW Online but left then the old message boards dissolved. I joined a group on proboards and that helped. Posting here helps, too. Find as many connections as you can and nurture them.…
  • All the advice here is great. But remember what it felt like to be way too heavy, and imagine how you would feel if you kept going that way for 10 or 20 or 30 more years. You are smart to change now and even if there is a little loose skin in the end, that is so much less of a problem than the extra weight would have been.…
  • I did very well on that points program, but left when this latest version started. While I have cut out a lot of sugar, it's not the demon some programs make it out to be. And I eat quite a bit of tasty cards, too.

  • I always save 200 or so for early evening. If I don't eat something planned, I tend to binge.
  • 1 to 1.5 pound lost per week should be your goal. Slow and steady, in a sensible manner that's good for the long term is a much better idea. I lost an AVERAGE of 1.75 per week for the first half of my WL journey. It slowed to 1 pound on average after that. And in a year 100 pounds melted off. You are doing great
  • I like truvia in my coffee. It's sweeter to my taste. But I don't run from sugar, either. Moderation works best with most things. I do find that more sugar equals more cravings for me.
  • I lost most of my weight eating a good amount of processed food. No issues there. But I found that for ME, cutting out a large portion of the sugar lessened the food cravings. The most important thing is to find a way of eating that you enjoy, can stick to long term, and that gives you the energy you need. If clean eating…
  • Often! In my WL journey, what seemed like WL plateau end up with dropping a clothing size.
  • You CAN do it. Just make small changes. Work hard on letting go of the all or nothing stuff. That always brings nothing in the end. Your eating habit don't have to be perfect. I lost the majority of 120 pounds eating mostly packaged food. It's the calories that count. Over time I made healthier eating more of a priority.…
  • I drink less than I used to, but I lost all my weight drinking some daily. It may or may not have a bearing on your health, but it's neutral for WL.
  • It's neither. It's just another part of your PLAN.
  • What everyone else said. Also, don't rely on "feeling" motivated. That feeling comes and goes. Just be too stubborn to quit. Take quitting off the table and keep plowing through. The motivation often sneaks back on its own.
  • I'm not even sure what that is, but why do it? In all honesty if a fad is something you dont want to do for the rest of your life, don't start it. It's better and smarter to figure out a meal plan that you like, you feel good with, and that has the calorie level you want. That's the sort of thing that will help you melt…

  • People fail because they quit. DON'T QUIT. You will make some bad choices as you go. Forgive, learn, and stick with it. Try new foods. Track everything. And don't quit.
  • I lost 120 lbs on the previous WW program PointsPlus. I left after the latest plan change and the demise of the message boards. I've maintained with MFP quite nicely. It works well if it works for YOU. like most other programs.
  • You dont. It will tighten up a little with exercise and look better with some muscle under it. But that's it.
  • I always track creamer and dressings but not mustard or seasonings.
  • As others have said, steamer bags of veggies are great.
  • It happens often to me, but less than it used to. First, I take a look at it to see if there was a reason it happened. Was I stressed? Was I bored? Was I hungry because I didn't eat enough? Am I eating the wrong mix of things for ME? if I can change something or head it off next time, I'm ahead of the game. And sometimes…
  • I eat bread every day and lose just fine. Choose whole grain and lower calorie options and you'll still lose well and enjoy what you eat.
  • Don't rely on motivation. Just decide that quitting isn't an option. That's really all it takes.
  • I ate out or had a social meal once a week throughout my weight loss. It was non negotiabe for me. I made different choices based on what I wanted. Sometimes I ate low calorie item, and sometimes I ate half a meal. And sometimes I ate a huge fattening pile of greasy bar food. When I did the latter. I would see a 5 pound…
  • A WL of 1.5 or so a week is a good one for long term succes. As others have said, the scale will jump around a bit no matter how you work your program. If you lost a little weight, ate well, liked what you ate, felt good, and weren't hungry most of the time, then do what you are doing. Don't focus too much on scale…
  • I don't eat them as part of my food plan, but I on the days I earn them, if I am a little hungry I sometimes eat a few. I go by how satisfied I am for that day. They give me a little more flexibility if I need it. I only exercise moderately. If I was training seriously, I would do it differently and I would make sure to…
  • I understand. I was right there too! Making the fewest rules possible seems to work the best. Once you let go of the idea that you have to be perfect and perfectly controlled to be a GOOD dieter, you can focus on making sensible livable changes to live by. Within your calories, create your own plan. Eat sensibly, but eat…
  • I count calories only for weight loss. I eat lots of carbs, mostly whole grains and veggies, lots of lean proteins and dairy. I moderate sugar, but have no intention of cutting it out completely. Works for me.
  • I don't own a scale and have done well. Of you are good at estimating, have solid references, and are honest with yourself. You might not need to. If the weight isn't coming off, then you may need to. The scale will tell you if what you do is working.
  • I just saw something on this, and find it interesting. It certainly seems more sensible than having your innards rearranged with invasive surgery. The bottom line is that this, like bariatric surgery, only give people a head start on WL. Unless any mental issues are addressed, and long held habits changed, it won't help…
  • I've lost all my weight eating multiple small meals. No one told me to, I just played with my eating plans over time until I found what worked for me. I know people who eat ONE meal a day, and that works for THEM. Your daily calories are yours to use in a way that works for you. If you are always starving, this is a huge…
