@Orphia thanks for posting this! I have some saris I brought back from a trip and have wondered how to use them (other than the few I have hanging as decoration) and I LOVE the dress idea. I've still got a way to go, but I love that I am currently wearing some old jeans I had that are 3 sizes smaller. Granted, they are not…

The salt is always what gets me in the prepackaged veggie burgers/meatwannabe products. (I remember one "Italian sausage" link had 800 mg sodium) they were also pretty tasteless.. except for the salt. But if you like the taste of the brands you listed and all the sodium doesn't bother you (I don't care for overly salted…

I've had a bulging disc pinching on the sciatica and it sucked, I'm glad you're on the mend. I spent many an hour with a physical therapist doing exercises to relieve the pain... was trying to avoid surgery and we seemed to have succeeded. At the time I was doing century rides, scuba diving, and all sorts of other things…

As others have said, go before work. If you are in Hollywood, there are lots of places to walk. Get out of the office at lunch and take a walk (pretend you're a tourist to make it interesting, picking a new spot each time to walk to, or just head along Santa Monica Blvd, or walk around the Paramount lot) then you've got…

totally.. I dreaded it. I actually lost sleep that week worrying about it. :) Again, a huge mental hill on that one.
-
@afk2000 that is normal and trust me, you CAN do it. That day is a big mental hurdle. If you've been doing ok following the program, then you will be able to make it through W5D3. If you need to, slow down your pace a bit.. but mostly trust in yourself that you can do it. :)

I'm halfway through week 6... from someone who thought they would DIE week one: you can do it! :)

a few days shy of 46 here :)

This is fantastic. Thanks for sharing!

I made these last night (cut mayo in sauce by half, doubles yogurt) http://www.saveur.com/article/Recipes/Fish-Tacos-Chipotle-Sauce and the dry rub on the fish (cod) was nice. I also make a miso salmon that is really nice. Bonus: you can marinate mushrooms, Japanese eggplant, etc in the marinade as well. 1/4 c white miso…

A calorie deficit will take off the weight, exercise is for fitness. If you are in pain doing something, you need to stop and find out what is causing the constant pain. Continuing to do the activity that is causing pain is going to do more harm than good. After you rest (and hopefully go to the doctor) then try the…

Congratulations on your success so far! (and I'm mad jealous of your eyeliner skills!)

You should be very proud that you are taking the steps in the right direction. The past is the past and what is done is done. (I go through the same thing) Take pride in your current accomplishments! You walked to the gym, went in and did your thing.. AWESOME!!! In another month of doing that same thing, think of how you…

I've had friends do both. One biked across the US and stayed both in a tent at various places and then would stop at friends' or friends of friends', or a hotel from time to time for showers, comfy bed (or couch). Another friend has just begun her solo bike ride across Canada. She's doing the same thing. First was on the…

Colorado here, too. Welcome!

Perhaps it's how this was written, but this doesn't sound like a healthy situation.

chicken baked with ras el hanout (can bake with potatoes and other veggies. Olives and shallots go well here, too) chicken with citrus marinade (orange and lime are great) then grilled, just don't marinate chicken too long, the acid in citrus can give a weird texture if left overnight.

you rock, girl!

I'm on week 6 of C25K (on a treadmill, will be moving outside soon and will drop back a few weeks to acclimate to the surface difference). Have faith in the program and yourself :) Repeat a week if you need to and go slow so you can build up your base.
-
I'm in week 6 of the couch to 5k.. maybe start something like that repeating each week to build up slowly and see how your heart does? (and is your doctor ok with you trying to run?) I am with you on the anxiety. I ended up moving inside to a treadmill. I'm going to venture outside soon (it's been cold and rainy here…

Congratulations on all your hard work!!

thanks, everyone.. I appreciate the input!

I don't use the Garmin much at all. I did years ago when I bought it (cycling, 3-day walk, etc) but just dug it out of the dusty box. I mostly wanted to use the HRM, but then found out it won't work on a treadmill for for other indoor cardio without the foot pod. the chest strap alone might be an option, need to find…

I feel like a complete moron for not thinking of this! I do it with almost everything else, but like @Miss_Mabee pizza didn't occur to me.

Can't tell if trolling or serious.... :/

Great, now you're going after my Cheetos.

My dog is a herder... doesn't work so well on runs. lol

Exactly. I mean I make the occasional cauliflower "pizza" but I consider it another alternative way to eat some extra veggies - it in no way substitutes for a real pizza other than a similarity in appearance (base, sauce, cheese, toppings)... and I don't always plan ahead enough to make a proper yeast crust. I love…
