I had so much fun kicking my brother's butt in Tekken.

I completed day2 of week2 in Couch to 5K yesterday and didn't die! :D GO ME!!! (not as excitingly awesome as yours.. but baby steps for a beginning runner. hehe)

The first image won't load for some reason, but looking great in the second! Congrats on how far you've come - and the new racing suit!

I keep some pudding cups on hand for a nice little dessert. I also suck on a Werther's candy if I just want a little something sweet. I'm also pulling out some older clothes that were tighter and using them as inspiration. I have a few things I've hung onto that I loved and I'm looking forward to wearing them again soon!

@joobey https://youtube.com/watch?v=XpHykP6e_Uk most definitely. (I don't know how to embed a video in here) Especially with things like chips: it says 10 chips on the package, are those the big chips, the medium chips, a little pile of crumbs? There's no way to accurately judge. But you can know exactly what is a serving…

Mickey and Minnie Mouse outline balloons on my wrist. 45th birthday present to myself. Why Mickey and Minnie? Disney themes make me smile. Now I can glance at my wrist and see a little bit of fun whimsy :)

Getting my mind really on board. Then enhancing that with programs like MFP, taking small steps in changing my lifestyle, and finding some fun goals to encourage me to keep going (zip lining, hikes, new clothes, sport events)

I love John Bingham. and thank you for sharing. These stories are going to be my motivation to keep going when I want to stop. Thank you and have fun in your races this year!

I don't think I've ever been told I inspired someone to run before! yay!!!
-
you go, girl! I'm by FAR not a dainty flower right now. I'm sure it will get easier as we get lighter and more in shape (besides round in my instance. hehe) I hear you on the hills. I'm at 6000' and in a hilly area. I stuck to the tiny elevation changes today

oh dear.. I can't decide if I should or should not look at this. lol

I'm loving all the responses as well. So glad that people who now run marathons, etc remember their first runs and are open to letting newbies like me hear about it. :D welcome to MFP, @annettemoe!

I don't even want to think about my form at this point lol mostly want to focus on not dying ;) thanks for sharing and good luck with your C25K journey, too!

yay!! stories like this give me more hope and incentive to keep going. I hope you have an awesome race in November!!
-
Congratulations on how far you've come and thank you for sharing. I am always thankful for people like that man in your race who help a stranger (or friend) keep going. I hope you are able to run again soon! Thanks @TriShamelessly! and a half ironman! Dang! That's some serious dedication. well done! You were part of my…

Cool, I'll try it again Wednesday and see if I can get it to work.

that makes sense... more distractions. :) I'm all about the distractions!
-
@yesimpson I debated the treadmill, then thought early, early in the morning less people would likely see me.. and it was dark. :) Not for scary day 2 on Wednesday! :) Good for you @chalaivy! It did feel good that I completed it, no matter how tired I was afterward :) @RespectTheKitty I'd heard it was easier on the…

I found the app in the list, then click on CONNECT and then it takes me to the home page for ZenLabs. :( Thank you so much for the encouragement. Today was tough and tiring and I felt like I had no business doing this.. so hearing the other starting out success stories is wonderful.
-
@questionfear sorry you puked, but glad you shared your story and inspiration :) @SarcasmIsMyLoveLanguage I almost cried - definitely felt hopeless. These stories are giving me hope and encouragement to keep at it. Thank you!

Thanks, wonko221! I'll check out belly breathing. And I loved reading how quickly you progressed in how you are feeling. Gives me hope! I have a 5k in late July and I'd like to run the whole thing (a first for me)... so I think I've given enough time for me to work up to it (with a few repeat weeks factored in :) )

Thanks, kgj4105! :)

Wonderful transformation!! :)

I just completed day 1. I wish I could figure out how to get it to connect to MyFitnessPal. Feel free to add me... warning: there may be some whining ;)

thank you, Shalu! :D

In my own experience, my sodium is almost always lower than the macro indicates on here. But I also cook most everything, don't eat too many prepackaged things, and don't eat out often anymore. This is all due to personal taste - I love to cook and, to me, most packaged foods taste awful. Processed foods usually rely on…

I LOVE this thread! Shalu, thank you so much! I absolutely love south Indian dishes and the only places here serve more northern/Punjab dishes. Your posting these recipes is a wonderful gift! Do you have a good recipe for masala dosa (I've got a dosa mix I use, but have not found a good filling recipe yet. I can't wait to…

Welcome, Sara!

Like quatermore said, grilled chicken salad is the healthiest. See what soups they have, a broth based one won't be too bad. Currywurst is a knackwurst (around 230 cals per link) with a curried ketchup on it. Pick sauerkraut, applesauce, side salad, cottage cheese, or German potato salad for sides. you could also order a…
