  • Today is a bad day and I need some encouragement. I have walked an agonizing 764 steps so far today and just want to cry. My pain killers aren't taking the edge off. When I hurt I want to use food to numb the pain.
  • Today is my cheat day. I allow myself 1 day every two weeks where I can eat what I deem "totally inappropriate, marginally nutritional" food. I allow myself to go over my allotted calories by 200 calories. So for lunch today, I had a Whataburger hamburger, fries, and a Dr. Pepper. After 2 sips of the soda, I decided it was…
  • I have been big all my life -- sometimes I'd lose a little, but it always seems to come back. When I feel like a failure or get discouraged I remember a quote from Thomas Edision about building the light bulb, "I didn't failure I just learned 10,000 ways not to build it." That quote for me really sums it up. I didn't get…

I didn't get to be overweight in…
  • I lived in Japan for years and many people there eat bento boxes for lunch every day. A bento box is a meal that is made up of just a couple of bites of several different foods. For example, 3 bites of salad, one chicken nugget, 2 pieces of brown rice sushi, a couple of bites of a vegetable, and a couple of bits of a…

  • I have tried water exercise and for me, it was great while I was in the water, but once I got out I just wanted to melt into a pool of tears. Maybe I was overdoing???? If I lived closer to a pool/gym I would definitely try it again, however, because I really loved being able to work out without sweating! LOL

  • I'm having trouble getting a PM to go through as well, but I reported the issue so hopefully we can connect. In the meantime, we can keep posting here.
  • I probably need Crafters Anonymous
  • Just turned 50 (Feb 28) and pretty new to MFP (20 days). Hoping this group will motivate me on my journey. I have fibromyalgia and arthritis so moving is painfully and something I have tried to avoid in the past, but the weight must go, so not moving is not an option. My goal (as simple as it may sound) is to walk 25 more…
  • 3/1/2016. Drink 8 cups of water; move 25 more steps than yesterday; and make 1 healthy substitution at dinner
  • I need to lose almost 200 lbs as well and would love someone else to take that journey with. I have fibromyalgia and arthritis so moving is difficult but I have started working out with light weights sitting in a chair on the days I just can't stand the pain of walking. It's not much, but on my book, any movement is better…
  • This is the group for me! I, too, have fibro and arthritis and even the smallest things make me hurt worse. I am lucky to get 2,000 steps a day without pain, but I am not giving up. Steroid shots have helped me some. I am slowly starting to exercise with light weights in a chair on days when I just can't stand to stand or…
