My breakfast is usually below 200 every day so some of my breakfasts include Ocean's Snack Kit (the one with Rice crackers) 146 calories. Thin bagel with very light smear of Lite Cream cheese 160 calories. Finn Crisp crackers (4) with light smoked salmon cream cheese 180 calories. Built Protein bar 110 calories. I find the…

I understand where you are coming from. I lost 108 but have regained 14. I’m working on getting it back off as well. I quit vaping and that certainly affected my maintenance. It’s been about 2 years since I lost the weight. I refuse to go back. Watching my macros has helped some as I started allowing myself too much sugar…

To start log your food to see how many calories you are consuming. I was shocked when I started dieting to see how many calories there were in things I ate. I remember mexican food being a real surprise because we used to stop at a fast food place and tacos were just an add on in my mind. I would get a burrito or two, two…

I try to stay under by a couple hundred when possible mainly because I have a taste of things here and there and I know I have not logged absolutely everything so that's my cushion.

One of my regrets when I lost the weight was that I didn't lift weights to maintain muscle mass. I would suggest that you use this time to lift weights and build or at the very least maintain muscle while you are losing weight. I too spend way too much time in front of the TV and am mpw planning to use this time instead to…

Alot of folks never reset their calories thinking that the app will do it automatically. Unfortunately I have found that is not the case. You need to go back through the guided setup to have your new weight taken into consideration. My next suggestion is if you have done that then try taking a diet break at maintenance…

This is entirely up to you but I was stuck for 3 months and a week of diet break got me losing again. In my opinion it was worth it to take a break. The result was I think I gained about 2 pounds which came right back off and then I was losing. Had I not done that I believe I would have been stuck for another month or two.…

I have the T-fal one and it sometimes crushes the food when it fries because it stirs with a paddle. I bought a basket insert for it but haven't tried it. @acpgee says she has the Phillips one and it sounds like a better model. From her posts I am guessing she is a gourmet cook. I would really research them before buying…

Wow, this description was so clear I felt like I was there. Unfortunately now I want bacon and coffee (and I don't even drink coffee), lol. Seirously though you should write for a living.
-
Me too! I love things like that. I do like bacon and chocolate but those aren't the things I find hard to give up. I'm 63 by the way so don't feel bad, you aren't alone.

I can definately be a scary example of that. I lost 100 lbs and was able to get off all my meds. I started vaping somewhere in the middle of maintenance. Then I had a tummy tuck to remove the excess skin and had every single problem possible I think. I had quit vaping a month before surgery but it wasn't enough. I had…

Thank you to those of you who have shared your experiences. I don't feel so alone. I had to quit vaping because my blood pressure was through the roof. So no patch for me. It's become harder lately because my husband started vaping again and I'm fighting it. The weight gain seems to have stopped but now getting it back off…

You might want to consider a diet break if you have been on this for long enough to lose 70 pounds. https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10604863/of-refeeds-and-diet-breaks/p1

Yes I was eating more and yes I have tightened up my logging. Had I not then I would have gained 30 pounds not ten, lol. What I was hoping for is someone who has quit nicotine to tell me when does the hunger rebalance? I've heard it said that you gain then it settles down and you will go back to normal. I want to know how…

Sorry missed this reply. You can take a break on your diet and just eat at maintenance calories. If you change your goal to maintain in MFP the program will give you a new higher calorie goal which you should follow for 2 weeks. This gives your body a break and also helps mentally as you get a bit more food for a while.…

I was type 2 diabetic before I lost the weight. Like you I was not on insulin but I was taking Metformin. I had been overeating on carbs (mostly candy) for years. My doc was a fan of low carb diets but I chose how I would lose. Once my weight came down I went off the Metformin and my sugars are normal. I can't do Keto…

I have stopped eating treats at work. They now know that I don't indulge. Once you get that established you won't have so many offers and people stop questioning you. As for the lunch with hubby... I would just pack a lunch for myself and join him for the company. Start out by packing something you really like and as time…

Wow! you got the drains out at week 1? I'm so happy for you. I had them in for 5 weeks. So happy to hear you are walking so well. I know it's hard not to just go longer but it's not worth the complications trust me. Sounds like you are doing amazingly well. Congratulations.

I took a peek at your diary and it doesn't seem that you are missing your protein so I doubt that is it. It does seem like your calories go high and low though. Not that there's necessarily anything wrong with that but your body may be reacting to it. It seems that you went from 1200 to 1800 back and forth. That puts you…

I'm curious how your diet changed when you added more calories. Did you add lots of carb? Sometimes we don't get enough protein and I know when I splurge I tend to eat carbs to the exclusion of protein. Because carb digests quickly especially if fat is low I seem to feel hungry faster. I would take a look at your macro…

It's great you are seeing a dietician in December. I understand the desire to get started ahead of time so I would suggest using a reasonable loss rate that you feel you can live with. Because you have 133 pounds to lose you can choose 2 lbs/week if you wish but you don't have to. 1 lb/week is perfectly fine and would be…

I understand. That is really maddening. Vent away, we can identify with you.

Could you politely ask them to locate it somewhere else. I would just make a joke out of it and say I can't be trusted please move it to ___________. Hopefully no one is offended.

There is a Large Losers group you might like. Go to groups and search on Large Losers.

No one ever appreciates being told that they are eating more than they think but it is likely the case here. Several folks have given you ideas where to look. I wanted to just add a couple of items. The first is the "cheat day". Often people admit to them but don't realize how they can derail your progress. Chances are…

I increased the length of my walks and lowered my calories. At this point I'm trying to lose the ten pounds I've gained. It's frustrating but being fat was worse so I chose the lesser of two evils, lol.

Surgery really messes with your water weight. It took me a few months until I felt it had left. Just remember your body had a shock and things are different so it takes a while for it to calm down. In fact in my case I thought I looked fatter after the surgery than I did before. I look at pictures of that time and I look…

Yeah I wondered about some of this too. What I’m really curious about is how my new walking program might have affected it.

Lol, yup come on down. Mashed potatoes are definitely a weakness of mine. ;)
