I tend to agree...

True, but there isn't nearly as much stigma involved if a man doesn't conform to this standard. So, you go to the beach with a bunch of people. A couple blankets over there is a guy with a huge beer belly shirtless sunbathing and a woman with a huge belly in a bikini sunbathing. Who do you think this group of people are…

be uncomfortable with your naked self. I love who I am as a wife, mother, all round human being, and love what my body has allowed me to do over the years. Now that I am getting older and life has really taken a toll on my body, I am not as comfortable in my own skin as I was in my twenties. And that is ok. I accept the…

Sorry Jeff, but, there isn't nearly as much pressure on men to look a certain way, as there is on women. Heck, as men get older they look "distinguished", as women age they look "haggard". There is a huge double standard in our society about body image. The fact of the matter is that you CAN love yourself AND

The thing about sex and attractiveness is.... no matter what you look like, you are ALWAYS SOMEONE'S ideal. What is "attractive" varies greatly person to person. How WE feel about the way we look is far more important. It has everything to do with self-esteem and confidence. A woman who is heavier with good self-esteem and…

I would just like to throw this out there. It will apply to some people but not all people and remember that tone can't be conveyed in writing, so please don't take offense. This can be a touchy subject for some people but not for others. Those of us that feel compelled to eat, binge on a regular basis, starve ourselves…

Weighed in yesterday, lost 6.6 lbs in 8 days. Yay. Almost 12 lbs in just over 2 weeks. Working hard and it is paying off.

With my Parkinson's, the weather can be brutal on my body. It's been rainy for the last two days and the stiffness is as killing me, causing actual pain. The pain makes me not want to move. I pushed through as best as I could burning 2800 cals yesterday and 3200 cals today. I didn't get in the kind of cardio that I wanted…

@skinnyjeanzbound - oh I understand, I too have a pair just sitting on the top shelf of my closet just waiting for me to squeeze by butt into them. LOL

Random thought.... skinny jeans are an uncomfortable cruel invention, and personally I can't wait until they go out of style... I am longing for the days of wide legs and boot cuts. LOL ... Sorry for the interruption.

Did 5 workouts this week, 3 days of strength training and 2 days of zumba classes. Had a rest day yesterday and was gonna go to the gym today but my husband and I were at the car lot looking for a new car for me and that took forever. Who knew you could burn so many calories car shopping though? LOL, funny but true. No car…

I am 36 have 2 kids, have had 4 abdominal surgeries, and have young onset parkinson's. I also have to lose nearly half of me.... I am only a couple weeks into getting back into some sort of shape and live nearly 2000 miles away from my friends and family so I know what it is like to feel like you could really use some…

Hi, I am new to your thread. I worked on MFP about a year ago then had to stop all strenuous fitness activity due to a gallbladder removal. My doctor has just recently given me the green light to get back on track so I started MFP and hitting the gym again on Feb. 23rd. I had lost 5lbs the first week but my trainer was…
