I make a hot cereal out of it - 2T coconut flour (or 2T almond flour), 2 T milled flax seed, and 1T protein powder. Add hot water to desired consistency. It's similar to Cream of Wheat, but low in carbs, high in fiber. I like it plain, but you can add whatever flavor you want - cinnamon, brown sugar, nuts, peanut butter,…

I am 5'6" and 127lbs and my pants size is a 4.

I am a mom with two kids and a full time job and I still believe you have to make the time. I'm at the gym by 5am most days bc it's the only time I have....kids are still asleep, I get my workout in and then head home to get them and myself ready for the day. It's not easy, but doable.

I was referring to the statement from patbev61 above that said a body needs a minimum of 150g carbs to maintain function. No. I agree that some do well on low carb and some don't, but that doesn't change the fact that the 150g carb as a requirement to function is completely false.
-
Nope. I've eaten under 75g carbs for the past 18 months...much of that under 50g and am still maintaining all the functions just fine.

My definition is: going at your max for what feels like forever, with breaks in between of what feels like 2 seconds. It never gets any easier, even after a year of doing it. But I have found that it has made other workouts easier on me. I do Les Mills GRIT 2x a week, which is 30 min and described as a HIIT class. Whether…

My Thai go to is Ka Prow Kai Sub - it's ground chicken, basil, fresh chili, an over easy fried egg and fish sauce. It's usually served over rice, but I ignore that. I don't see it on the lunch menu at your place though...I'd probably stick with the Thai Beef Salad.

I came back from a 7-day vacation last month weighing 12 pounds more. I ate (and drank) my way through Italy without giving calories a 2nd thought. I tend to stick to low carb and ignored that completely too for all the pasta, pizza and gelato I could get my hands on. Between the food, the wine, and the airplane travel, I…

seltzer water works for me

I follow a 18:6 schedule for the most part. I do have a cup of coffee with 2T half and half a few hours after waking, which accounts for 35 cals, but other than that, nothing. I'm already lean with just a few vanity pounds to lose, so this schedule helps me to stick to it without feeling deprived. For me, 5:2 would be a…

I have a cup coffee with a couple of T of half and half a few hours after waking. Yes, it has calories, but it's not like consuming that 35-50 calories is going to throw me out of some sort of magical fat-burning mode. So I stick with just the coffee and sparkling water until around noon to 1pm and still consider myself to…

I typically do two. Back to back cardio classes T, TH early morning, plus a long walk in the evening. MWF Cardio early morning, weights in evening.

It depends on how "low-carb" you wish to go. Craft beers can have around 15-20g carbs per serving. If your goal is 20g or less, that probably won't work. If it's less than 100g, you can probably fit that in. I typically stay around 45-55g net - no health reasons, just my preference in terms of staying satiated. Most of…

I agree with genetics playing a large part. My first baby was born via emergency c/s. I was lucky and once I lost the baby weight, the area is completely flat again. He was also a micro-preemie, so I'm sure that played a part too since the skin never got really stretched to begin with.

I lived on pancakes during the worst of my morning sickness with both kids. Sip on sparkling water with lemon. The fizz and the bit of sour help..and can get that nasty taste of nausea out of your mouth.
-
I make my own - 2 T almond flour, 2 T flax seed and 1 T protein powder. Just add hot water - it's low in carbs, high in protein and fiber and filling. It's more like cream of wheat than oatmeal though.
-
I like the Costco Kirkland protein bars too - chocolate chip cookie dough is my favorite. I recently tried the Oatmega brand too and those were really good - only 14g of protein (compared to 21g in the Kirkland brand). Then there's the Coconut Almond butter Clif bars...which I won't even pretend can be considered all that…

haha - it's a necessity in my house! They need their sleep for my sanity, lol. Plus, mine are still young. 9 and 6.
-
Awesome. The fact remains that I'm a proponent of "you do you". It truly gets you worked up when someone says/does something different than you? Really? So yeah, it's trivial and unimportant. I'll say the same thing I say to my kids when they get into being all judgy - worry about yourself.

This.

We like it roasted. Toss it with a bit of olive oil, salt and pepper and roast it at 425 for 20 min or until the leaves start to get crispy. You can mix up the spices to suit your tastes, add some parm cheese, etc

We really lucked out and bought a power rack off a friend who just wanted it gone. We got the rack, a few bars, a few pulls, 500 pounds of weight and a set of Bowflex adjustable weights for $200. My husband and I do SL together.
-
I have two kiddos and I get up at 4:30-4:45am and hit the gym while they and my husband are still asleep. I get back, showered and ready for work and then wake them up to get their day started. They never even know I'm gone! Beyond that, focus on your diet first and take steps to be more active when you can.

I will drink coffee black, but I much prefer it with half & half - to me coffee is a creamy drink! I used to drink it with sugar and a ton of cream, but weaned myself completely off the addition of sugar and now just add a splash of cream to it. It's worth the 25-30 calories to me!

I like the Isopure zero carb vanilla and cookies and cream powders.
-
oh my goodness...this is utterly heartwrenching and beautifully written. I'm so sorry for your loss, but so glad that you found each other and were able to enjoy so many wonderful years together.
-
really?? huh...I didn't think anyone truly liked that stuff ;) Me too! I'm pretty sure I ate my weight in gelato. This week without it has been a serious struggle. lol
-
I skip breakfast and just eat lunch and dinner, with occasionally one snack between the two.
-
A piece of toast with a bit of PB smeared on it helps. It's warm and filling...takes a bit more chewing than something like a cookie.

my intake is intentional - around 3-4 liters per day, not including food. If I don't consciously think about it, I find myself only drinking around 2 cups a day.
