  • Good evening, Ladies! I can't read the 165 messages I've missed, tonight; I'm having an amazing, intense, wonderful first week at my new job, and still wrapping up some freelance work, in the evenings...but I wanted to say HI! and wish you all well. <3 Soooon, Larisa in Seattle
  • Having a splendid first week at my new job (and still wrapping up my old job, in the evenings)...don't even know when I'll get another swim in, but hoping for Saturday. Meanwhile, I wanted to say Hi.
  • AAAAAAHHHH the new job is awesome. And I'm exhausted. (Hi everybody!)
  • VERY addictive; lol. I ADORE moving in water. But also, I have goals. I seriously want to 'get good', especially at...well, everything but breast stroke, I guess, heh. It's important enough to me that I'm seriously considering this switch from my $19/month Gold's Gym membership, to the $184/month "athletic…
  • Swim class today; shoulder so sore I didn't even get in the water yesterday. New job starts in 47 hours. I'm truly excited about this amazing job (and fairly passionate about rent and groceries, come to that), but I'm afraid I'll lose my swimming momentum. I'm going to check out an expensive and pretentious athletic club…
  • oooOOOOOooooOOOOOoooooh my job starts in 47 hours. And I've lost four lbs since finally busting out of my plateau. This summer is going to be AWESOME! Happy Saturday, Ladies! :kissing_heart:
  • Worked on crawl stroke today, after a week (ish) of concentrating on butterfly. I feel like it got ever so slightly easier all on its own  despite my shoulder still being very sore. I divided my time between the "easy" lane and the free swim area, and I can't help noticing I swim better in the free swim area, just…
  • Hi everyone; I've been tracking my walking as part of a team challenge, and got lazy about posting here... but everyone's looking great! and I wanted to say "hello". :flowerforyou:
  • Okay, I strained my shoulder trying to control a friend's crazy dog from running away in a strange neighborhood. I'll try this again in July maybe, or August if need be. Have fun!
  • A HUNDRED new message? God bless! Hugs to you all, and back to work with me.
  • I tried the proper lap swim, yesterday; after four laps, I went back to the free-swim area. Sooo intimidating. I have... (counts on fingers) ...seven more chances to try, before I start my new job...except I strained my shoulder trying to control a friend's crazy dog yesterday, and I'm not swimming today. :persevere: Out…
  • GACK! Feel better soon!
  • I don't "cheat" and I don't recommend it. But on days I both swim and lift (once a week), I plan for more calories, including a modest treat. It's still a day that's different from the other six, but the mindset is different from "cheating". HTH
  • Ummm according to Runkeeper, I just slept for 1.53 miles at a pace of .00309 mph. *snort
  • Oh yes, I know what a bosu is; I've been using one as well. I wanted to know more about the workout
  • Class today; butterfly stroke is coming along nicely, and shaping up to be my strongest stroke, just as my gym teacher predicted all those years before I ever took a swim class. It's nice to feel reassured that I'll become actually good at *some stroke, eventually. ...although I'm currently working under the…
  • Walked a mile and a half of the two miles home from swimming for an hour; took a bus the last half mile.
  • I managed to walk twice today; I'm going to be caught up to my goal by Monday
  • Did you like the Bosu DVD, and if so, what was it? What is it about men and money? My ex and I both had careers; the main issue with our marriage was that he didn't want to be a husband. When we were seeing a marriage counselor about the fact that he had been "denying intimacy" in all our years of marriage, he…
  • WooHOO! Congratulations, and I'm glad your husband is doing well. :flowerforyou: And also, wooHOO the scale finally budged this morning. I finally weigh less than I did seven weeks ago. Best one-and-a-half-pound weight loss, EVAR. Starting weight: 230 MFP starting weight: 225 Current weight: 202.5 Goal…
  • Count me in, with the no snakes gratitude.
  • Today I verbally accepted a job offer at a company an exact mile from my house. Guess who's gonna walk to work
  • I have verbally accepted the offer of a full-time position as data engineer for an amazing, nerdy, successful technology company a mile from my house and around the corner from my gym. #priorities  Start date is June 20; I have till then to "graduate" from dorking around in adult/senior swim, to the early-morning…
  • Thank you to everyone who was wishing me luck! I have verbally accepted the offer of a full-time position as data engineer for an amazing, nerdy, successful technology company a mile from my house and around the corner from my gym. #priorities  I'm so excited! Larisa in Seattle
  • Well, my next chance to take a walk will be Thursday. Because life. Although I might manage to get on a treadmill tonight.... fingers crossed.
  • Mediterranean plants do very well here, in general ("here" being Western WA...except for the rainy part of the coast). We're traditionally considered "rainy" all winter, but our inches of actual rainfall are not high, and it's dry all summer. I have several varieties of lavender in my tiny, downtown rooftop garden. I love…
  • nuffer I'll take one of your meh swims any day
