I would say ..consult your Dr. first..with that out of the way..I'd say 2000 would be fine..short term..you should drop weight fairly quickly. Watch your body for signs that you need more fuel. I don't weigh much of my food at all..it depends on where you're at in your journey I suppose. I had the "advantage" (if you can call being morbidly obese an advantage) of weighing 308# , so weight would come off, if I simply cut down on calorie intake and increased the calories burned. STOP the presses. Keep researching weight loss. It is simply burn more calories than you take in. Do not make this about carbs and fats and so on. If you don't understand why you should eat more carbs..less carbs..No wait..eat more fat..no less fat.. Keep it simple..Burn more calories than you take in..see what works for…

Congrats to you! My progress so far...I started on March 1st changing my life. I weighed 308# on Feb 29th. Last Monday, July 18th I weighed in at 243.6# I have never really decided on an end weight..maybe more of a range..I'm thinking 195-205 So..perhaps 40-50 more to go..and I'll re-evaluate then..
