  • I wore a sports bra that was too small 6 months ago. It's probably not really a great cut for me - now looks a little big in some parts, but feels fine and was very comfortable. I'm glad I can get some wear out of it anyway.
  • Highest weight 165lb Group start weight (Feb 6th 2021) 143.3lb GW 125lb Last weigh-in 140.6 This week 141.0 Small increase this week, but I am actually pretty happy with that - hormones usually have me up a pound or two at this time of the month, so a small increase is better than a big one. And I am super excited I have…
  • Because a particular person in my life says it's impossible to lose weight at our age. And same person always makes less-than-polite comments when anyone refers to my exercise routine (even in the midst of a conversation about exercise and diet). I understand that we all make our own choices and have different priorities,…
  • I absolutely hated all physical activity as a kid. Didn't mind a day hike, and walked to friends' houses often, but that's about it. I later did some casual sports with friends, had various gym memberships at different times, but still basically hated it all. After I broke my ankle a few years ago, I then had a long…
  • Hi all - sorry for the belated intro...I joined and then must have got sidetracked, and just spotted Turtle Track in my groups 😆 I am 43 (she/her), in New Zealand with my DH, 2 kids (11&14yr) and our 5yr old beagle! Seems to be a popular choice of dog in here LOL. She's a great walking buddy. Like Christie mentioned above,…
  • Keeping up my workout routine while the kids are off school this week and next. Also I want to mostly keep up my usual eating - there will be a few deviations as we do various activities during the holidays, and that's okay, but doesn't need to derail me.
  • Tightened my watch strap another notch today to stop it sliding around.
  • Oops, I missed Wednesday, but here at last. Highest weight 165lb Group start weight (Feb 6th 2021) 143.3lb GW 125lb Last weigh-in 141.4 This week 140.6 Very slow weight loss here too - but I am definitely improved in other areas. Since starting to workout in January I have got noticeably fitter and stronger, and improved…
  • I tried to do this when I was on the BC pill, but would get breakthrough bleeding, so found it easier to stick with the placebo pills so I'd at least know when to be prepared. I could run two packs together to skip one period, but and more than that and it would go off track.
  • Not much change in weight this week - been hovering around the same all week. Highest weight 165lb Group start weight (Feb 6th 2021) 143.3lb GW 125lb Last weigh-in 141.5 This week 141.4 As it turned out, Sunday (the day the marathon was meant to be on) was pretty miserable weather-wise. But I went out for a long walk on…
  • We (Wellington region, New Zealand) have just come back out of a week of restrictions here. It wasn't really a lockdown, just limits on large groups etc. Personally, the only thing that was really affected was my entry in the Wellington Marathon last weekend - now postponed until they can organise a new date. The cause of…
  • I don't think there's any virtual option...the downside of our keeping covid at bay is we are not quite so up with the play on alternatives 😆 My sister (who was doing it with me) may still come for the weekend, and we will just do something on our own.
  • I used to feel that way, but earlier this year started a trial for an online subscription service - access to gym workouts, lots of variety and I can pick and choose what I feel like doing. It still costs a little, but less than a gym. And I have been surprised how much I love it. I have never worked out this regularly…
in Gyms... Comment by jo_nz June 2021
  • Ah, rats, after months of life as normal, we had a visitor from Australia last weekend who has since been diagnosed with covid, and is presumed to have been infectious while they were here. Just a slight increase in restrictions, not a full lockdown, but no marathon event this weekend 😕. Not a huge deal in the scheme of…
  • Here in New Zealand, we are still wearing masks on public transport (trains, buses) as well as planes. We still have no community transmission at the moment, but people who have been making the most of the Aus/NZ travel bubble are asked to keep an eye on the locations of interest, and get tested if they have any symptoms.
  • I use a subscription service for my workout videos, and my Apple TV box seems to have stopped working. Instead of skipping it, I managed to use Chromecast to play it from my phone and got it done.
  • This week I have managed Water 5/7 days In bed by 9:30 3/7 days 😳 4+ workouts 4/4 Daily dog walk 3/7 🐾😦 Long walk 1/1 Total 16/26 - a bit of work to do!! It was a bit of a mad week last week, but definitely want to improve on those numbers this week.
  • Yes, the last year has really made me appreciate a lot of little freedoms in my life! This week I have booked a family trip in October - feels weird as I haven't really been planning anything that far in advance for a while!! (And fingers crossed nothing crops up between now and then to mess up the plans!)
  • @laurad1978 sure, it would be lovely to have a few more in here to chat with.
  • Feeling pretty happy this week - bought some new jeans (smaller 😊) and having clothes that fit just makes me feel so much better. They are still tight enough that I can't go too far off track LOL. But it's good to see that I probably have actually been replacing some fat with muscle over the last few months since I started…
  • Oops...and yay!! 😂
  • How disappointing that the cheesecake wasn't delicious! I have definitely been a member of this club in the past, and actually kind of still am - I have learned to put less on my plate in the first place, and most nights I serve an extra meal into a container for my DH to take for lunch (or if there is a lot, then some for…
  • So, I changed the battery in my scales this week ...and instantly went up 2lb! 😕 But feeling good and back to normal after being sick the previous week 😃 Highest weight 165lb Group start weight (Feb 6th 2021) 143.3lb GW 125lb Last weigh-in 140.8 This week 141.7
  • It feels great! And so easy to comb through, and quick to dry. And doesn't get tangled up with clothes/bag straps etc. Wish I had done it sooner 😃 Definitely no regrets, and this weekend I just need to tidy up my shelf where I get ready - less accessories needed LOL
  • I haven't really been keeping up with my healthy habits lately, so time to start up again and set some targets! - 2x water bottles per day - in bed by 9:30pm - 4+ workouts per week - daily dog walk - weekly long walk One thing that has been putting me off regular workouts lately, as we've been heading into winter is the…
  • When I first started, I thought I would do a 6 week challenge and be nearly done! :D Now I know that this is a long haul, not about dropping as much as possible in the shortest time I can. Now it's about living my life...balancing all the parts of my life including treats, exercise and overall health.
  • <3 this thread!! I especially related to the need to stop putting an end date on it. I had to stop putting myself last. With kids, hubby, family business, volunteer roles etc etc, I felt like my whole life was taken up with everyone else's needs, and I was left with the scraps. Making my own needs a priority helped me turn…
  • I did the free trial (and actually managed to cancel without any big hassle - there was a chain of messages not just a one-step process, but not too complicated). But I really disliked the articles - too upbeat or over-familiar in tone (IMO), and really not very much solid information. Maybe it would have got better beyond…
  • It's so nerve-wracking even when there's no current cases! I went to a concert back in February with 30k people (Wellington, NZ), and the very next day we had a lockdown announcement (the cluster then was Auckland-based, but as you say, people travel for these events). Our travel bubble is "paused" with Victoria now too -…
  • Highest weight 165lb Group start weight (Feb 6th 2021) 143.3lb GW 125lb Last weigh-in 140.0 This week 140.8 Not a great week. I ended up feeling rotten last week, but it think it was actually more the cold my DS had earlier last week (confirmed NOT covid) than a vax reaction. I had a couple of rough days, and today was…
