  • 17 days until my cruise, plus 2 weeks in Cape Cod right after. I'm a little worried!
  • I don't log anything step related as an activity, including my runs. I just rely on what my Fitbit gives me. I use Runkeeper and my Fitbit Flex when I go for a run/walk, but I only use the Runkeeper to check for Fitbit accuracy. My Fitbit always is spot on - miles are always off a little, but calories burned are always the…
  • @EmbeeKay When I first started with MFP I didn't use my Fitbit at first. As soon as I started using it and syncing it to MFP I was much more successful at losing weight. I am a teacher and am on my feet a lot. At 2500 steps I have exceeded my lightly active status and start earning exercise calories back. Unless I actually…
  • @thereshegoesagain When you swim with your fitbit does each stroke count as a step? I am curious because I don't wear my Flex when doing non-step activities, like Zumba, tennis, or bike riding. I am thinking of joining a gym so that I can swim.
  • I also will have Dannon Light and Fit Greek Yogurt (coconut vanilla) with fresh raspberries. The yogurt is only 80 calories but has a whopping 12 grams if protein.
  • This egg scramble is 359 calories. You could cut the cheese and ham in half for less. I don't know if you can see my recipes, but it is in there. I measure everything out the night before, so it is really easy to throw together in the morning. If you look at food diary from yesterday (5/23) my Snack (1) is also something…
  • I will look for the picture. ;)
  • @clairelouisekaa @davehogg1990 You can also upload photos into Photobucket (or something else), get an image code and paste it into your post.
  • Me, too, @clairelouisekaa
  • Thank you! I just really want to be able to sync my Fitbit. I think I will set my goal to higher than normal (maybe 15,000 steps, instead of 10,000), that way I will at least know if I am getting my steps in.
  • Protein, protein, protein! Not even tons. I eat yogurt with my breakfast and a serving of almonds for a mid-morning snack. Both of those keep me full until lunch. If I don't eat protein for breakfast then I am starving by 10:00. Check out my diary (the weekend was bad because I was visiting my daughter at college). I don't…
  • Pack up all the clothes that don't fit (Rubbermaid tubs) and store in your garage. Only keep accessible the clothes you can currently wear. When I lost 70 pounds 3 years ago I literally got rid of every clothing item I owned and had to slowly buy new. I went from a 14/16 in pants to a size 4 and XXL shirts to smalls and…
  • There is a little camera icon where you reply to messages. Click on it and go find your pictures. :)
  • I only go by what MFP says as far as calories to eat because Fitbit constantly adjusts until midnight. In the morning both MFP and Fitbit match up.
  • On Nutrisystem veggies were never counted. I understood that for most vegetables but carrots really add up. I eat 50 calories of Cherub tomatoes and 70 calories of baby carrots at least once a day, so I always add them. When an entire bag of spinach is 20 calories, and I only add a small handful to my omelette, I don't…
  • I don't believe this is quite right. I have MFP set to Lightly Active. I also sync my Fitbit to MFP, and it is set to Lightly Active, as well. At some point the amount of walking I do each day surpasses my Lightly Active setting, especially because I run/walk at least 5.5 miles almost every day. If you are given exercise…
  • 5'6. 50 years old. 3 years ago I was at 220 and lost 70 pounds on Nutrisystem. Fabulous program! Gained about 20 pounds over the last year and am now down 32 pounds since January and getting fitter every day. First photo collage is from original loss. Second photo collage is from 4 months ago to now.
  • I spent the weekend with my daughter at her college ( University of Oregon). We ate out a lot. I was careful, but definitely went well over my 1390 (no exercise calories to eat back). I made good choices, MOST of the time. This morning I was scared to weigh, but was only up .5 pounds. Very relieved. I am 4 weeks away from…
  • 32 pounds down from January.
  • My goal is to be at 145 by my Bermuda Cruise on June 17. 8 pounds to go. I don't think I will make it, but I will be super happy if I am at least 149! :) I am down 30+ pounds since January, so doing well. I will then shoot for another 10 pound loss by the time school starts again in September. Teacher here!
  • My Fitbit and Runkeeper both give me the same calories burned (between 500 & 600) for my 5.5 mile walks that I do almost daily. I walk about 4 mph, 5 mph when I run part of it. Seems pretty accurate to me.

  • I just count calories with MFP. I do my own weight lifting at home with 10 pound weights for arms, leg lifts, and sit-ups. I walk more than the weight lifting, but I have seen a huge difference in my arms because of the weights. All other improvements are really from calorie counting and losing fat. I walk a lot (5.5 miles…
  • Job well done! I am 50 and have had a nice transformation, too. (profile picture). It is very exciting to have such success, isn't it?
  • When I first started in January 2013 SW 220; 5'6; size 14/16 pants September 2013 weight was 150, size 4 pants. January 2016 SW 185; Size 8 pants Currently 153; size 6, my size 4 pants fit, but are a little snug in the waist. I have small hips and legs.
  • 30 Pounds down from January 2016 to now. Cruise in 1 month. 8 pounds to go. Strictly calorie counting and walking. Have started running some of my walking loop.
  • I started getting back into exercising again by just taking a walk in the evening. Started with 2.5 miles around the neighborhood. Some evenings I was tired or had a headache, but I did it anyway. The headache always went away. Then I moved up to 3.5 miles. The neighborhood started getting boring, plus I ran into so many…

  • I will use all these tips on my upcoming cruise to Bermuda and additional 2 week stay in Cape Cod! Good ideas everyone!
  • I am set to Lightly Active, as I am a teacher and on my feet most of the day. After I reach whatever steps MFP/Fitbit thinks is enough to be Lightly Active I start getting calories back. Usually after 2500 steps. When I am set at Sedentary I just got exercise calories sooner, but I also was given fewer calories to start…
  • Congrats! I'm going on a cruise to Bermuda for 7 days in June and then on to 2 weeks in Cape Cod to visit family and eat Lobstah Rolls! I am a little worried because I should just be at my goal weight right at the time I leave for my cruise. My family runs a 10k on July 4th, so I do plan on keeping in shape for that, but I…
