  • ooh wonderful! I love indian food; we keep chana masala as a regular in our rotation. I will have to try these. So Vegetable Jalfrezi is one I love -is it super terrible for you or incredibly difficult to make?
  • Wow! I see people asking about motivation...definitely sending them to you. Sounds like you feel just as fantastic as you look! Cheers!
  • there is a lot of WOW in here! amazing!!!
  • Yea, something like that. It would be interesting to actually see a scientific study on where the "cap" is although I am sure it differs per person
  • I hear a lot of people saying no, bad idea, but here's a thought: at least according to my husband (who used to be a personal trainer) the logic behind the cheat meal or day is not just psychological but metabolic as well; your body gets used to functioning on X number of calories and by changing things up drastically…
  • Super helpful!! thank you
  • :) cool, thanks everyone!
  • A switch to being vegan doesn't automatically mean weight loss, but I find it much easier to drop pounds when I remove all animal products from my diet. I mostly vegan and pay very close attention to where I get my animal products from.
  • 3 months of P90x and 1300 cals a day. not huge weight loss- 124 to 117- but I was proud! Somewhere in between now.
  • all sarcasm aside, probably stop doing HIIT, my understanding it that it is designed for calorie burn and weight loss. Reduce cardio to 2-3x weekly non-HIIT or altogether. Eat more in all regards except in sugar and high glycemic and saturated and monounsaturated fat and lift rep 1-6x more heavily doing rep- 8-10 reps to…
  • It depends. For running I love "I like to boogie" by T rex, "take on me" by a ha and "dancing with myself" by billy idol, as well as "ABC' by the jackson 5 and "bright side of the street" by van morrison and "turning japanese"by the vaprs although there are many more I love for running, these are just the ones that…
  • I didn't say it IS pus, I said it *potentially* HAS pus. Semantics, I suppose. Or reading closeness. Or perhaps drinking any amount of pus is just nastiness. (aside I have been on community for 4 days but have been logging here since 2012 on and off. mostly off to be perfectly candid. Still maintain my high school weight…
  • I want to like all these posts! So cool :)
  • Love this and love all the photos!! Mine are all old- 3 over 14 and I have 4 of them- so we really can't do 30 minutes a day, but they still love a walk and we are not good about going daily. I will post our "oldster" walk tomorrow. The younger one runs with me. Here's one of our oldsters walking on the beach last spring.
  • I don't do milk because I'm lactose intolerant, but honestly also because I have just begun to find that drinking another species breast milk is rather gross. Something hit me at one point...would I drink human breast milk or eat human-breast milk made cheese? No... I should clarify I am not vegan - I still eat meat- but…

  • I don't think you need a food scale especially with veggies. That being said, watch your portions as follows: protein per meal should be the size of your palm, carb per meal should be the size of your fist. You already did bread so try to wipe out all your simple carbs: pasta, rice, bagels, potato. Basically if its white,…
  • OMG wow!! Super inspiring. Congratulations. Tell us how you did it?!
  • Don't give up!!! When you are running make sure you going at a reasonable pace. That's the biggest question for me: Am I pushing myself? Its easy to get into the groove of a pace with any repetitive cardio and not really get a lot out of it. I personally really don't enjoy running so when I do it I do short bursts of…
  • when you say you breathe after every lap you mean you have to stop and catch your breath? You should not be going a lap without breathing. Do you know what kind of stroke you are doing? Honestly 10 minutes at a stretch is good for a new swimmer! Some people can barely do a few laps when they get started. It will get easier…
  • ok, for calorie burning (which I think most people here are trying to do), higher intensity interval training is more effective than low intensity non-interval training.
  • I had this problem with my mom...I LOVE spending time with her and we would often do it while walking, so I asked her if she minded if I ran for a bit here and there. So I would run away for a minute and then run back for a minute and then walk with her for 2. Sprinting for a minute followed by a bit of walking is actually…
