  • I'm going to try & post a link here to another discussion in this group about eating calories burned, which has around 85 posts so that may be of interest to you. Here is the link
  • I LOVE that you all put treats in your plan - I think I'll start doing that! I have to be very careful, though, given my history of binge-eating on sweets.
  • How would we go about figuring it out ourselves? Is there a general formula that I could use that may be more accurate than the algorithms built into the machines? Sorry if that sounds naïve, I don't really know much about all of this and a lot of good information has been presented here.
  • I guess I'll just use it as a guide & adjust if needed. Thanks for all of the great input!
  • LOVE THIS!!! Where are Fred & Barney, and the rest of the gang?
  • Little victory this morning: walked to the grocery store & back instead of driving (1 mile round trip). This entailed pushing this small cart with 40 lbs of litter up this huge hill
  • I was victorious in that I didn't have ANY sweets yesterday, which is a huge win because my office is a minefield of naughtiness!! My numbers weren't perfect, as I was seriously more hungry than I wanted to be, but it was all healthy things and I'll count that as a win!
  • I've had similar troubles with several different digital scales, even when I've spent extra $$ on them. The problem I've had is they would seem to hold onto the last weight and give me that weight even if I tried it 3-4 different times on different days, different times of day, etc. There's no way that could be correct.…
  • Welcome! I closed my diary out of shame...didn't want anyone to see how bad I did. I am the same in that if I start messing up I go all the way and really mess up. My goal is 45 net carbs/day and it is very comfortable and do-able. Not sure if I understood you correctly, but is your goal zero carbs? I'm not sure, but I…
  • It's not a victory yet but I KNOW it is going to happen. My numbers are going to be good today, I will NOT have any M&Ms or cookies or any other sweets. I won't go to bed with disgust and frustration over my weakness, because today I am going to be Wonder Woman and conquer those inanimate "fake" enemies known as sweets!!!
  • I didn't realize that erythitol was a natural sweetener; I've only seen in in Atkins things and thought that "sugar alcohol" was another version of artificial sweetener. Thanks - I now have more things to consider eating!
  • This is soooooo awesome, I couldn't simply click the awesome button!
  • Oikos Triple Zero. Not real great as far as fat is concerned, but I love the taste and there are no artificial sweeteners or added sugar.
  • No thanks - I'll stick with the dog food!
  • Best thing I've read all week!!!
  • Thanks for the suggestion! Unfortunately I get migraines from artificial sweeteners. I've concocted a chocolate "candy" recipe I can make at home with Stevia, unsweetened cocoa, and coconut oil. It's not super-duper, but it's chocolate ;)
  • Yesterday afternoon I gave in an ate a cookie. Then I had 2 more. I was at the top of the slippery slope and felt myself giving way to more bad choices. Here are the victories:* I went and grabbed a handful of Hershey kisses from someone's candy bowl, and came back to my desk to eat them. Then I decided to put them in a…
  • I am a ground-scraping _____. Not sure what! I am slightly under 5'2". Need to think of a cute name for us ground-scrapers :-p
  • Not since starting this WOE but I've had that happen in the past when I've consumed a bunch of sugar. It would usually be followed by a migraine. Not sure what it's all about but it passes, so don't let it freak you out ;-)
  • Thanks - that was helpful. I've felt myself slipping this afternoon (I did slip a little) so I ate 2 string cheese sticks and drank a bunch of water. I can and will do this! I can and will do this! I can and will do this! I can and will do this! I can and will do this! I can and will do this! I can and will do this! I can…
  • Yes, and yes! I enjoyed every minute of it!! (except for the guilt that I stuffed way down inside so I could ignore). But it isn't worth it. I wish I hadn't enjoyed it, as I have a VERY hard time having only a few sweets. I ended up eating about 7 cookies and 2 candy bars, in addition to normal food. I need to stay…
  • I am so amazed, impressed, and motivated by you all! I don't have time to congratulate each of you so am doing it in a group CONGRATS!! I have a before pic and I'm halfway to goal, but haven't taken a progress pic yet because I want to wear the same clothes as the before pic and can't find them right now :-p
  • He looked in the mirror and realized someone stole one of his ears!
  • That first pic - with the kitty - is exactly how I felt when I recorded everything and saw the final numbers! Partly cuz I was amazed my body didn't go into some kind of shock from eating all of that crap!
  • Oh, I sure did!!! :o
  • I've fallen off the wagon and eaten every sweet thing in sight while down. Had at least 6 cookies today and 2 candy bars. :s You are not alone. I'm single & don't like to cook much, so quick & simple is always my goal. For snacks I have almonds (carefully counted out), beef sticks, string cheese, & sometimes an Atkins bar.…
  • Sorry to hear you're going through a rough patch. What kind of surgery did you have? Be sure not to go too light on the eating right now, as your body is working hard just to recover from the surgery and needs the fuel. And be kind to yourself if you indulge a bit. Recovery is tough and some "low" moods are common (aka…
  • That is so awesome how far you have come and I'm so glad you're living life fully now - CONGRATS!!! I used to be athletic and in shape for a period (2005-2010ish), but let myself go. I'm only halfway to my weight loss goal but am already thrilled with the increased energy!
