I've read about that study. Its results are encouraging! My doctor certainly believes that weight loss has a big impact on diabetes. I've lost 33 pounds since my T2 diagnosis in March. I can see the improvements in the finger stick readings and I'm looking forward to having my a1c done in a few weeks. I wish you the best!

I've often thought about it and I've never been able to come up with a reason for my overeating outside of I've always loved food. I can remember being a child and having to decide between two lunch options and thinking "which one will give me more?" I always enjoyed eating. I ate slow so I could savor the food and I hated…

I hear you. I got my T2D diagnosis in March and also came back here then. It wasn't a shock, as I had pre-diabetic test results last year and didn't make any changes. I think I'm one of those people who really needs a kick to do something. T2D is the kick. I've seen in my family what can happen when you don't take it…

Hi Sandra. Congratulations on your marriage!

@springlering62 Absolutely stunning!
-
@zumbaforever I should check out the challenges. Sounds like fun!

@NocteLibri and @AnnPT77 those are all gorgeous projects!

I use the calories set by MFP but I alter the macros as the default gives me 50% carbs. I lower carbs to 30%, as I'm diabetic, and up the protein and fat. I'm sure everyone does it differently, based upon what works for them. That's one of the things I like about MFP.

Hi @karma1974 ! I was diagnosed with Type 2 in March. I was terrified to eat anything that first week after diagnosis. Are you able to have an appointment with a diabetic dietician? My primary care doctor recommended that I go to the diabetes education center that's affiliated with her hospital and I'm really glad I did…

@Kayakwoman83 we had a fantastic visit! I'm sure we'll be back sometime. We're from Pennsylvania so it's not a terribly far drive. I came back to MFP a few months ago when I was diagnosed T2 diabetic. I figured it would be easier to track my carbs/calories here than just trying to eyeball it. So far it's working really…

Hi Chelsea. My husband and I visited Ottawa a few years ago during the tulip festival. Absolutely beautiful! Welcome to MFP.

Welcome Linda! I wish you all the best!

This is one of the recipes we did in our pressure cooker. We don't have an Instant Pot brand but it works the same. https://www.familyfreshmeals.com/2018/04/instant-pot-honey-garlic-chicken.html

Yes, you can definitely cook chicken breast in a pressure cooker. You can also get good results in a slow cooker.

No, I never bought one of those, either. But now I do remember buying a used Thighmaster at a charity rummage sale. I had forgotten all about that. I wonder if it's still lurking somewhere in my parent's attic all these years later.

Hi Kat! I'm also diabetic and came back to MFP the day I was diagnosed so I can keep better track of my carbs/calories. My goal is to keep my diabetes under control and lose about 50 - 60 more pounds. I wish you the best!
-
That's awesome to hear! I could definitely see him doing that.
-
Yes, I see the same thing on PC. On mobile I see only the MFP blogs. I was wondering if there was an issue.
-
I love this! What a wonderful memory.

Welcome! I was diagnosed a few months ago and came back here to MFP so it would be easier to track my carbs. So far it's been successful. I wish you the best!

Hi Luis! Welcome!

Decades ago on family vacations to the beach, I'd take my younger cousin to an amusement/water park to spend one of the days. One year when I was 18 or 19, one of the water slides seemed to have a lower amount of water than usual. I would have weighed about 200 pounds at the time. My cousin is 11 years younger than me and…

I have eczema and heat/humidity can cause it to flare. I also learned the hard way in my teens not to mindlessly touch foliage while out for a walk. Let's just say Benadryl was my friend for about a week after that incident.

Great job!

Thank you!

Hello! I was diagnosed T2 in March after my yearly blood tests. It wasn't a shock, considering last year's blood tests were pre-diabetic and I didn't make any changes. Smart, right? I am taking it very seriously now. Unfortunately, I've seen in family members what can happen when you don't. Great to meet everyone!

I must find these!

That's a great idea! I can definitely check out a ReliefBand. My husband is a dog person and grew up with dogs. We kind of got adopted by a stray cat and that's how it all started. The one cat seemed lonely so we got another. Then the first passed on so we had to get another as company for the second, etc. We still might…

Hi Peach! I rejoined MFP a few months ago after my type 2 diabetes diagnosis. My goal was 90 pounds, too! I have 60 left to go. We'll get it done! My diary is open.

Your goal is so much fun. I love theme parks! I get motion sick on the spinning rides now (boo!) but I'm good on roller coasters. I don't get seasick either, so I guess it's just spinning? My husband and I also don't have kids but have had cats for all of our marriage and those are like our furry children.
