I'm 5'9" and started calorie counting at the same weight you are. I had a desk job and exercised 3 times per week. I found 1600-1800 was a sweet spot for me. Enough food to not feel starving, but enough of a deficit to lose weight. [/quote] Thank you so much- that is actually very helpful!
