  • bumping because you asked. I have no useful info though...sorry
  • Welcome aboard! I like new friends. I've been keto since April and lost 50 lbs so far!
  • Those are hard. I have them too and I've learned to go with them but keep my carbs under control even if I can't keep my cals under control. Other days I may go all day with barely any food.
  • Welcome aboard and congrats for your new choices for better health!
  • I'd give anything to feel like that @jasperdog52554. Anna would too....we both stay stuffy a lot. Could be LCHF, could be aliens...who knows
  • Yep! Pork rinds are delish especially when home made. Cut into thin strips, put on baking tray with parchment, season with salt, pepper. Bake at 325 til crisp. Or you can slow cook at about 180 degrees forever and a day.
  • Sorry to hear the results were not where you expected them to be. I understand and agree with your plan to see a different doc with a background in your precise health concerns. That's always smart. I've found, generally speaking, that I prefer docs with DO behind their name over MD. They just seem more in tune to overall…
  • You've got this!!
  • @baconslave Wow! what a change! so happy for you!
  • @midwesterner85 Rowdy hunts in a State Forest a couple of times a season here. It's a long drive so he only goes a few weekends. Otherwise he has permission to hunt on the land owned by the company he works for. These last two years have just been really bad. We had horrible flooding last year and this year between the…
  • Wonderful. so happy for you!
  • @Midnightgypsy0 Yes. They become very tough and the wild game flavor that we like in a smaller pig or in deer gets really gross. Just butchering it, you can smell the ick. It's nearly impossible to get decent flavor even with a "game taste" removing plan - vinegar, lemon juice, or whatever you like to use. Normally we…
  • So the "200 lbs" wild boar is actually closer to 400 lbs...yeah, not much to eat off that puppy at that size. We took the back strap and I have it ruminating in some lemon juice to hopefully take some of that wild flavor away but the rest is no good. We also took the head as my son in law wants Rowdy to European mount it…
  • Yuck...Banana. when Anna was small she couldn't swallow pills so all of her meds had to be liquid and they were all flavored like banana. I couldn't even stand the smell!
  • oh let's not talk about deer...He's been hunting nearly every day since opening day and barely has seen anything, no less been able to take a shot at a deer. I reviewed the cam footage last night...pigs and raccoons all over the place, not a deer in sight on the wild game cam. It's sad and I would give anything to find a…
  • :D :D .... I've been going crazy waiting to process our own freaking pig...but Rowdy's waiting til the cooler weather hits...yeah...that ain't happening this year it seems it was 70 degrees today....that pig may eat me out of house and home before I get to eat it. At this point I'd take the neighbors...but it was a wild…
  • Love it!
  • I will eat keto friendly foods but will probably not log. I seem to have struck a balance - log M-F and don't worry about the weekends when we are so busy. I stay keto I know, but have no idea about hitting or missing goals overall and think I'm ok with that. Since I'll be cooking and tasting all day I can't imagine how…
  • I can say the exact same to you @anglyn1! Thank you!
  • Keto since April 2016
  • Welcome aboard. I'm always happy for new friends. I learned to love cauliflower in casseroles. I like salad and I eat that often. I don't eat other veggies otherwise unless I chop them small and hide them in stuff - like my meatloaf is full of veggies cut up really small and sauteed in butter then added to the meat. I only…
  • Very happy for you!!!
  • @diane79zp sorry you asked yet? :D :D :D
  • huh...you learn something new everyday - I thought stuffing and dressing were interchangeable and just verbiage based on upbringing and location. What's the difference in them @missippibelle?
  • Crock pot recipes - add liquid! No matter the cut of meat I use some liquid in the bottom. One of my fav things to do is slice onions and coat the bottom of the crock with the onions. Put the meat in on top of them, season to taste. Let cook on on higher heat until the onions caramelize. Then add liquid - usually broth and…
  • I woke up to thunderstorms this morning. Which is fine, except I have a call this morning and that means the cell phone may or may not work out here. My kids are off from school the entire week next week. I have laid out cleaning plans for them so on Thanksgiving we can have a nice meal and trim the tree!
  • That's not always the case. It really is person to person. I didn't have that at all.
