  • The stressful job is a hard one to manage while dieting. You are going to have to plan and it is going to take a lot of willpower. But you can do it. Again, it will take planning. Stock up the office with good snacks and freezer meals. Stock up home with go-to meals when you are tired and stressed out. The thing is, you…

  • Chicken breasts simmering in garlic and apple cider vinegar in the slow cooker today. Putting baked potato, roasted green beans, and asparagus with it.
  • Fat or just need muscle toning? Up to you either way and nobody else's business.

  • You are eating in a surplus if you are gaining weight.
  • What do you like to eat? What do you like to cook or want to learn to cook? Those things. The only recommendation I really have is to buy a Lodge cast iron pan (the only brand made in the USA. You'll need a small and a medium saute pan to start.
  • No cheating. I eat delicious food all the time. Sometimes there are food events where I will go over my day allotment. I enjoy myself and estimate the best I can and use the calorie average for the week on the phone app to make sure I am still working toward my goals....or know the reason why I didn't lose weight that…

  • Rose, you are already on the road to lose weight by setting up your account. Some great advice here! Especially being patient with yourself and realistic about your goals. Nothing describes weight loss better and "slow and steady." The great thing about dieting is that it is as simple as eating fewer calories than your…
  • To reduce sodium, cook as many meals as you can yourself. Restaurants and packaged meals high in sodium. Opt for frozen veggies and dried beans over canned. Avoid salsa unless it's homemade. Tomato sauces, salad dressings, and cereals can hide salt. Pop tarts are terrible for sodium. Soups, cheese, deli meats are full of…
  • I believe we can all say...been there, done that, got the t-shirt. Some days are just hungry days. But I am so proud of you for logging it all! That is success. Tomorrow, you'll start over.
  • Cheating is cheating. Just don't do it. Log it all. Data is power. Mindfully incorporate the foods you like into your diet daily, weekly, or monthly. I swear every weekend there is a food event in my life. I plan the rest of the week the best I can. I enjoy myself while trying to stay reasonable on the calories. I have…
  • ALL microwave popcorn labeling. I don't care what the unpopped kernel calories are, and I'm not going to measure out by cup. I'm going to eat the whole #^$% bag of popcorn thank you. How many calories per bag would be awesome.
  • Salsa not homemade. Major sodium load.
  • I love their simplicity. And I think I have enjoyed every flavor I've had, though I don't have them often.

  • Soup, especially canned soups, are really high in sodium. Any vegetable or beans that are canned will be higher in sodium than frozen. Cheeses and deli meats have higher sodium. Spinach has a very little naturally occurring sodium. Low fat salad dressings will either have high sodium or high sugar, so take a look at…
  • I can't see your diary, but make sure you are eating satiating meals -- a balance of fat/protein/carbs. I find that high-fiber keeps me satiated. Some people do better at fewer, larger meals and no snacking.

  • Multivitamins, probiotics, and fish oil make feel sick. Plus, multivitamins have so much stuff in them. I know I don't need all of it because I track what nutrients I am getting. That being said, I do take a calcium supplement because of the dairy allergy, and it's the only way I get close to my daily recommended amounts.
  • Feel free to add me, too! We all need the support!

  • I am very inspired by the documentary by Michael Pollan called "Cooked". It's available on Netflix. https://www.netflix.com/title/80022456 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epMAq5WYJk4 Now this may seem a little silly, but I love popcorn. I love to have it every night. So I prelog it when I log breakfast, so my remaining…

  • Cook your own meat. Avoid canned products. (Choose frozen or fresh vegetables and dried beans instead.) Avoid processed meals. The more you cook from scratch, the better your sodium intake wil be.
  • I'd rather eat good food than take a pill. That being said, since I'm allergic to dairy, I do take a calcium supplement because it's hard to get all I need, especially while being in a calorie deficit. And while my nutrition says I'm a little low on iron intake, I know I make up the difference from cooking everything in…

  • Absolutely. I log everything I eat because it all has calories. Then I check weekly to see how I am doing on nutrition.
