  • I'm with ya. Been doing keto for about five weeks, around 15 lbs down, but nothing for the last week - despite eating 1200 calories and workouts daily. But, the way I see it, it's progress, and it'll all work out to my benefit in the end. Trying not obsess over the scale, but rather commit to the best I can do every day.
  • I've been there. I've been struggling with herniated discs since I was 17. I finally had surgery around 2 years ago (on L5-S1) and it was the best decision for me - I had done tons of rounds of steroid epidurals, meds, PT, you name it. Surgery made all the difference for me. Now I stick to as much low impact workouts as I…
  • Tons of great links on Pinterest, just type in beginner at home weight lifting. That's how I find all my stuff, and I do all at-home workouts during my kiddos nap time. I also bought a set of hand weights at Walmart for like $40, it has 3, 5, and 8 lb sets. Good luck!
  • www.ibreatheimhungry.com has awesome low-carb recipes. Also, can't go wrong with Pinterest!
  • What about some whey protein smoothies? I'm also a vegetarian, and doing keto, and I've made some tasty protein shakes that help me out. A scoop or two of Gold Standard whey protein (milk chocolate flavor), half a cup or so of unsweetened almond milk, a splash of heavy cream, a sprinkle of stevia and ice cubes in the…
  • egg salad and celery! I'm doing keto, so this is a staple for me. Almost no carbs, lots of good fats, protein, keeps you full for a long time.
  • I've been doing a ketogenic (otherwise known as Low Carb High Fat/LCHF) diet for about a month now, around 20-30g of carbs a day, on around 1200 calories a day, so CICO is definitely a major principle for me. However, I notice that the foods I do eat keep me very full - so reducing my calories is much, much easier than…
  • Try Explore Asia black bean pasta. It's my pasta substitute while I'm on keto/LCHF. It tastes amazing, and it has a TON of fiber - something like 44 grams in a serving! You can buy it at most major grocery stores. It's also on Amazon, too. Really great stuff!
  • Are you on reddit? There's some groups on there dedicated to keto that really helped me get a grasp on the diet. I've been doing it all-out now for about a month, and I'm 14 pounds down - so I'm a believer! There's also some amazing keto websites out there that really inspire me to get cooking. www.ibreatheimhungry.com is…
  • I cycle every day and I've noticed considerable improvement in strength and endurance, and I eat around 1300 calories. I'd never give up cycling regardless, though!
  • I do not eat more than 100-200 calories back, no matter how many calories it says I've burned in excess. For me, sticking as close to 1200-1300 is really important in order to develop a healthy relationship with food. I've had a steady and consistent weight loss so far - 1 month in and 14 lbs down!
  • I have a charge HR and I love it. It's helped immensely in my fitness and weight loss journey!
