  • I don't run. But i cycle. I know that if i do a hard long ride in the morning, i can happily sit on the couch for the rest of the day with very low level of activity, basically resting. It's taking some good motivation or necessity to do other things afterwards. If i do a good hard ride at the end of the day, i have a lot…
  • Thank you very much, such great idea. My tree is very big (probably can use good and proper pruning), but fruit gets damaged when hits the ground, and also same problem, like yours, bugs get right into it. This year is awful, all my mango keeps on falling. Very few left, but maybe next year will be a better one .
  • Can you please post pictures of your net setup? Lots of my mango falls from high brunches that I can't reach with picker and getting smashed, plus bugs of course, so I'm really interested. No one here uses net, as far as I know, it would be helpful to see how you do it. My tree is showing a few new blooms and new leaves…
  • I remember eating red currants and gooseberry when I was growing up, preserves and jams with them are good. Also black currants, I haven't had that in years. Good luck with your shrubs, hope you get nice amount of berries from them! @southkonahi , what kind of tree are you netting? That's a very interesting concept, I have…
  • I like to have raw veggies for lunch. I used to pack over 1.2 kg of vegetables into my lunch box plus 100 or so grams of protein and a serving of cheese. Then i started thinking how it's a crazy amount of food to eat in one setting ( although i never had problem finishing it up, actually wanting more sometimes). I'm a…
  • I definitely use some of the hacks mentioned in previous responses. Also, i drink plenty of water during the day, and more hot tea than water in the evening. Herbal, if it's past 6-ish pm. I eat breakfast pretty early, and lunch kind of late. It's work- schedule related, mostly. Some days i get hungry way before i can…
  • I used to play roller hockey (and ice too). So roller rinks for me was always a best choice. Outdoor ones are great, accessible and free. I also used to skate with my dogs, two of them loved my "fast shoes". We would have so much fun, i actually could keep up with them running. I had a spinal surgery a year and a half ago…
  • Haha, love it! My favorite way of cooking, winging it, yeap!
  • I commute in cleats/ road shoes. I find that to be the easiest and most enjoyable. How far do you commute? Why not ride in your cleats and bring regular shoes along?
  • I'm tracking mine on Fitbit, I can't use it for training, as it only providing data for during sleep. Definitely interested in the topic though.

  • Disagreeing could have been an accidental... Also, @ReenieHJ , sorry I've said "mom" in my response, it's your sister. I apologise for my mistake! One month is such short time, at least she's eating and exercising some. Hugs...
  • Celery and apple slices with raisins or crasins. Pumpkin seeds or sunflower seeds in shells.
  • I had stenosis, did a lot of PT which helped, but didn't cure it. Mine was in the neck after accident, it was pretty bad. Every dr I went on the consultation with, told me i was at risk for complete paralipsis. So after much consideration and seeing few different orthopedic surgeons, i had operation. I'm so glad i did, i…
  • How do you deal with all the fat and in corned beef? We, well, my wife actually, makes the boiled dinner, if that what it's called. Corned beef, cabbage, onion, potatoes, carrots in the slow cooker. It's something she insists on making yearly. I pretty much cook the rest of the year for us. But i find all the fat in that…
  • Most mornings my breakfast is Greek yogurt and frozen berries and other fruit. I would make berrie crumble, frozen desert like sherbet, maybe mix with sugar free jello for low calorie treat? I also would just enjoy a bowl of frozen berries, as an ice cream substitute.
  • If you are making your own dressing, can you reduce amount of oil in your recipe? If you are accustomed to the taste, you can try to gradually decrease the amount of oil and see how you like it. I don't use any oil in my salad dressing, it's vinegar based with hot sauce. I like spicy food, so i tend to go on the spicy…
  • I have muscle cramps and have not had any success with using food to replenish magnesium. Only supplements. Through trial and error i have narrowed down what works for me, which form of magnesium is the most helpful and it turned out to be magnesium carbonate. So i bought it in the pure form, without any additives and use…
  • @MinTheKitCat , haha, no secrets. I'm in 10b zone. It's nice and warm here.
  • Half of this big salad came from my garden. I've got mustard greens, chard, tomatoes, basil. The rest is store bought. Mushrooms, olives, Tuscan kale, arugula, onion, scallions, ginger, cucumbers.
  • @Safari_Gal_ , @MinTheKitCat thank you! Sounds so yummy!!!!!! I wish some of it was in my fridge!
  • I wanted to share my mushroom pics, they're golden oyster mushrooms, home grown from the kit. I had quite a few flushes, it was fun to watch them grow. Unbelievably fast, from hour to hour... Took me a while to figure out that i liked them grilled the best.
  • When i hit the link, correct page opens up but goes blank within couple of seconds. Anyone else having same problem? How to fix it?
  • Ah, ok. Makes sense. I do put old used seedling soil in the garden, but don't reuse it for seeds. So i guess I'm back to my original conclusion that the tomato seeds were bad last year. I bought from different company this year and they're thriving. Thank you very much for clarifying! "Damping off" is a possibility too,…
  • I have a question about potting soil, or rather @AnnPT77 your advice against using it. What do you use? I actually have experienced my seedlings doing very poorly and dying, but i thought it had to do with bad seeds. Now it seems like my potting soil was at fault. My mom said she bakes her potting soil before planting. I…
  • I've been making curries this winter. With lentils or peas and lots of veggies.
  • I highly doubt that they will. I've never tried that, but as far as I know, seeds are picked from a ripe fruit. Also, make sure your tomatoes aren't hybrid.
  • Wet suit for paddle boarding, amazon gift card that i will use to get resistance bands, and i will get to use the stair stepper that I've got for my wife, because, unfortunately, she might not use it much herself.
  • @_nikkiwolf_ , so sorry it happened! Sounds very much like you got a concussion from the crush. If you are getting any weird symptoms, like headaches, weakness, fatigue, something unusual and out of norm, consider going to a doctor and get checked out. Sounds so scary not knowing what happened and have such time gap in…
  • I have Garmin chest strap, very happy with it. It's very comfortable to wear, waterproof because it's for tri, doesn't drop signal and was super easy to pair. And when i say comfortable, i mean i don't feel like it's there at all. Works great, but i noticed that the data is very comparable to my Fitbit charge 4, except…
