Oh I have! Although I lost pretty steadily until about February this year. I like learning about the fluctuations though, what causes them, how my body reacts to different routines etc. That's what I'm trying to do this time, as this kind of exercise (fairly intense, daily, no rest days) is something new for me.

I haven't just started. I've been losing weight since last summer - 52lb so far, by myself, no fads or gimmicks. I joined mfp last week to get the last 20lb off, having counted calories in the past and found it useful. I've been weighing myself daily for the whole of that 52lb, I realise it's not for everyone but it works…

Why cut anything out? Carbs aren't the enemy! I've lost 52lb so far with plenty of carbs....what matters is the deficit.

Can I join you guys? I didn't see this post, so I started one on the challenge board! I've only done the first two days of level one and never tried it before so total shred newbie. I took before pictures and measurements and I'm feeling really motivated, despite serious muscle aches - seriously, I can barely walk down the…

I do wonder if I'll feel a bit bored by the repetition, but I really want to do the whole 30 day plan the way it is intended, so I can really see what the results are. If after that I want to try and modify it then I will. Just done day 2 of level 1. Definitely feeling the effects of yesterday's workout, mostly in my…

There's a few of us that started yesterday, join us over on the challenge board if you'd like some company!

Haha, yes, exactly! :D

That's sort of my plan too - but I'm trying to just focus on completing level 1 and not get ahead of myself. I always start strong and fired up....then quit. Hence starting this thread - I WILL NOT QUIT!!!

Great to hear from someone who is further on! I'm doing modifications too but my goal is to not be doing them by the end of the 30 days! I would LOVE to be able to do proper big girl press ups!

No no no no no no! Please don't! I don't have children, but I was a plump 11 year old and the way my mum tried to help me was fairly similar and it really messed with my head. I grew up thinking there was something wrong with my body (there was nothing wrong that growing and a general encouragement of healthy food wouldn't…

Day 1 is done!! I actually enjoyed it! I like the style of changing the exercise every minute or two - if it hurts it's only for a short time! My thighs felt like jelly afterwards but I went to see my horse and muck out and the walking around and keeping moving has definitely helped. I do predict some aching in some places…

Yay! Let's do this!

Thank you! I really like Jillians style too - one of the reasons I decided to start this rather than another program is that I know I can put up with her for a whole month! I've taken pre-shred measurements and I'm really looking forward to getting stronger.

I'm in! Starting this later today! I'm sure I'll be whining about how much I ache and how I can't do proper push ups so will be nice to have someone to whine with! :D

Thank you all! I think I'm going to try a range of things on YouTube and see what I like - I never even thought about whether I liked the trainer style! I love the sound of PiYo, (had to google it to find out what it was!) definitely going to give that a try. I shall report back with my findings! :-)

Ask yourself "what am I seeking?" It might be comfort, support, company, peace...whatever. Then work out what will give you this without sticking your head in the fridge. Comfort - curling up in bed with a great book works for me, support/company - call someone who cares about you. But looking at the specific need you have…

This is the same reason I came to mfp. I lost 52lb by myself but stalled with 20lb to go. Keeping an accurate track of everything I'm eating has made the weight loss start again! The last few pounds come off far more slowly because you can't get a large calorie deficit when you're so close to goal.

Sounds like we're pretty similar! I'm on 1200 at the moment, but it's all pretty slow going cos my maintenance calories are only 1640! The down side to being small! Would be great to have a buddy! :-)

I've been overweight for almost all my adult life but I have never been called fat. And I never will be because I absolutely won't tolerate it. I also won't tolerate being called stupid, ugly or any other shaming insult you can think of. There is no excuse for someone to behave that way towards you, but there are also no…

I recently went to a party for one of my 'skinny' friends and when pictures were being taken I had my usual reaction - cringe and try and hide. But I sucked it up like a good friend, got in the picture and smiled. I had such a shock when I saw the picture. I looked the same size as the skinny friend! I had no double…
