Planet Fitness markets to and attracts customers who are intimidated by other gyms. So based on PF's own marketing strategy, the mindset of their typical customers is one of being so easily intimidated that they talk themselves out of joining a gym based on the imagined possibility of maybe someday in the future someone…

I've always wondered if Planet Fitness revokes your membership if you get in shape? Although, given the mindset of their customers, it's probably never come up.

I'll bet this is just one of many excuses your friend has for rarely exercising.

Oh and: quit being a picky eater.

Canned meats like tuna and chicken could help some. Get a cooler w/ some diet cokes, waters, and prewashed carrots and celery for snack. Maybe some pre made chicken saladd from the grocery store. Focus more on the calories anyway. Stay away from junk. Count you liquid calories too. Another idea cut out one meal but keep…

The bigger the guy, the less he even notices who is or isn't in the weight room.

Ice will help but not much.

Calories are much more important than macros. You'll find a lot of disagreement on macros but a relative consensus about calorie targets. The main thing about any plan is that it be something you can actually do over a sustained period.

Too funny. This is like a Borat movie or something...

AA is mostly about whining and trying to "one-up" one another with stories about who used to drink more. Oh, and lots and lots of smoking. The main benefit I can see is finding a group of people who aren't going to invite you out for a drink; except that almost all of them "relapse" over and over again.

Great work!

We have a winner. :) Your physio knows more about it than anyone on this site. Don't do anything that causes pain. Google ywtl and also external rotation exercises.

Well I agree with aurical84. Pre-hydrate. Drink a half gallon of water per day or more, including non-work out days. If you're already doing that or you try it and it doesn't work, then I would definitely see a doctor about it. Also, how many hours of sleep are you getting every night?

Thanks for the details Rick. Informative and inspiring!

Outstanding! What was your diet like?

You'd have to be outright stupid to think most professions have even close to the same level of drugs, alcohol, prostitution, organized crime, scum bags and STD's as "stripping" does.

Drugs, alcohol, prostitution, organized crime, scum bags, STD's and all the things that go along with those things. Other than that...

Then take it up with the insurance companies. BMI is a useful tool regardless of equivocation or extreme examples.

Stop hanging out with scrawny men.

If you're trying to become the next Arnold Schwarzenegger, then genetics might become a factor. But if you're only trying to get stronger, then genetics aren't important. You stated you are new to strength training. You need to learn the movements, which simply takes time. Also find a good routine (like stronglifts.com or…

What an outstanding achievement Rick! Can you share some details about your diet and your exercise program?
-
Lol! Weights and measures were invented thousands of years ago, guess those are outdated too.
-
So true. The people who want to dismiss BMI are under the mistaken belief that BMI is supposed to be a stand-alone diagnostic with flawless results.

No running though I don't want to see you hurt your knee and get off track.
