  • I went to Greenwich Park yesterday for a 5K run, the hills were punishing but it allows me to get a view of London like this:
  • I'm normally a morning person anyway so my body clock gets me up and ready, going for an early morning run certainly wakes me up (especially on a chilly day!). A glass of water keeps me sorted, I might also have a gel when it's a long run. It was tough at first but sometimes forcing myself up was the only way to get into a…
  • I had an interesting one that not only annoyed me but left me perplexed as to why they chose the gym. While I was there a certain gentleman was sat on the bicep curl machine, not curling his biceps but watching what looked and sounded like Britain's Got Talent on his phone. It must have been at least 5 minutes while he had…
  • Another week, another run this time at Battersea Park. Lovely surroundings and a great event organised by the people from Runthrough, the flat course meant I ended up running a new PB! I managed 8 min/mile average but I reckon putting in more effort earlier on and I can get a better time, I certainly seem to have more to…
  • I bit late to the party but I'm in! I'll stick with my goal from September, 175 miles and this time I've got my sights set on achieving it!
  • I almost forgot about the end of September! Here it is, unfortunately I fell just short of my goal but not to worry that's all part of the journey I suppose. I've another Runthrough 5K event in Battersea Park this Saturday which should be fun, the course is flat so I should expect a relatively fast time there. Other than…
  • @dkabambe Definitely, the course is easy to follow and the surface is smooth so it's easy on the legs as well. @louubelle16 The HM got a good turnout so I would recommend it, as mentioned above the course is easy and would be good preparation for a Marathon.
  • I can't believe it's almost the end of September! Mind you I noticed the drop in temperature today, it seemed to time itself quite nicely with the Autumnal Equinox (who would have thought it?) Anyway, colder weather shouldn't be an excuse, I had a change in scenery and ran a 5K around the velodrome in the Olympic Park.…
  • Another week, another reason to do some running! A rather cold and windy Saturday meant I was taking it relatively easy on the parkrun, but I was still within a minute of my PB and it looks good for the upcoming 5K run this Saturday organised in the Olympic Park. I reckon I can up my pace, some more speed runs should help…
  • Last week was time for me to get some variety in my running, some speed runs and long runs to get my 5K to a good pace. It may be the placebo effect but I managed to improve my 5K time despite the typically grey and wet weather! I've also ended up signing up for a run this Saturday near the site of the Olympic stadium in…
  • The end of my C25K program came on Saturday in the culmination of my first 5K run at a local Parkrun. I finished 62nd out of 199 runners and 2nd in my age-gender group with a time of 26:44, not too shabby for my first run! Anyway, with the program behind me I've sourced some post-C25K workouts to improve my speed and…
  • Upping my goal for September to 175 miles, with the end of my C25K this week this should put me in good stead to practice my 5K runs. I'll be looking to run some 5K events later in October onwards once I get into the groove with the distance
  • My deepest sympathies for your loss, whatever happens you've got our support.
  • August sure did go in a flash! For the last day of the month I couldn't do much due to a one day company event, although having to drag a projector around did wonders for my arms! Still, 20 miles above my goal and the last 2 runs of my C25K program left has left me quite satisfied this month. Hopefully we all managed to…
  • Well it's the final week of my C25K program, those 8 weeks flew right by! I've also managed to reach my goal for August, yet I don't feel sore or worn out (yet!). Still, I've got to run that 5K first and see how I feel. I've signed up to my local Parkrun in Valentines Park which will be the first time I'll be running with…
  • I get that as well, I thought it was something to do with my device but I'm not alone it seems
  • The penultimate week of my C25K started today, no more walking just full on running. That should put my mileage up a fair amount, with much more rest required as well!
  • Quite an eventful week last week, played a bit of football (quite badly!) and needed some rest after that. Anyway onwards to week 6 of my C25K program, with some adjustment to my goal seeing as I'm going further than I realised. I'm getting that feeling I can do this, in a way I can't wait to do my first 5K!
  • Getting well into the C25K challenge, started week 5 and getting those longer runs in. I might need to increase my goal by the looks of it as well!
  • Another 7 miles from a mixture of my C25K program and some walking outside on what was quite a nice day:
  • It was supposed to be a "rest day" but ended up taking part in a company basketball event, I think I spent more time rebounding than scoring!
  • I'm going for 100 miles this month, should be a good challenge!
  • I have a Garmin Vivoactive HR, great piece of kit if a bit chunky. It's certainly allowed me to find out how far I'm actually walking since I'm always doing it at any given opportunity!
  • Hi everyone, "slightly" late to the running challenge this month but I'll be sure of making an impression in August. I've recently started the C25K program and have finished the 2nd week, so far so good! I'm hoping to use this to allow me to take part in my local Parkrun to begin with and perhaps go as far as taking part…
  • Hi everyone from a warm (for the time being!) London
