I'm certainly no expert, but these few things have helped me: -overestimate calories if you are unsure -Adjust workout calories to about 75% of what MFP or the exercise machine says -to motivate yourself to go to the gym, pick a binge-worthy show and make an ironclad promise to yourself that you can only watch the episodes…

It's taken 10 months, and it's from using this app. Before I was eating whatever I wanted and not exercising at all. So this is a big change. My first goal is under 200, but I was my happiest at 170. I'm 5'10 so it's a healthy weight for me
