Oh for Pete's sake, some of these posters here are giving you worst case scenario. Is it abnormal to miss your period; yes and no. Women's cycles can fluctuate for lots of different reasons. Just starting moderate exercise can delay periods in some women. Your body is remarkable and in times of stress (physical, mental,…

You look great!! As a mom I can totally see the 'mom pose' in the before shot... hiding behind the kid and trying to minimize yourself. Now look at you! You are confident and look amazing! Congrats!

I am intimidated as well, not gonna lie. What I've been doing is watching YouTube vids and I'm going to have my trainer show me the ropes the first few times.

I usually do plain eggs, oatmeal, a wrap w/PB and banana, sometimes avocado toast.

Dang that sounds good! I know what I'm having for breakfast

I don't think they're sustainable. Maybe something more along the lines of 'clean eating' would be better. I know, gimmicky name but basically just try to eat unprocessed, whole foods.

That's a good point! It's about 3 weeks old, so maybe it needs more time to get to know me.

Ok, I'll try to look into this, maybe the fitbit boards can tell me what's wrong there. Fitbit says I burn maybe 450 calories a workout. I have all my settings on 'lightly active' since sedentary didn't seem to apply. Dang it fitbit, I thought we were just getting our crap together lol

Thanks Niner. Any idea if that could be inflated somehow? If it helps, I have three very young children and I am on my feet constantly. I work out 6 days a week for about an hour; lots of squats and dragging heavy stuff around and a little cardio here and there. Mostly chasing children though. I'll try your suggestion.…

Sorry for the post and run, I went to the gym then got all the kids down for bed! I'm counting calories, yes. I have a fitbit and I'm primarily using that right now (sorry MFP). According to fitbit I burn about 3000 cals a day, eat about 2300-2500 cals. I eat pretty clean. I weigh everything. I have been taking…

I love breakfast and second breakfast.

Honestly the funniest thing was probably last night. I was at the weight machines and a guy comes strolling over, very new and young. Most guys do this move: they put both hands on the bars in the middle of the jungle gym and casually lift themselves up in a pull up on their way to another machine. But this guy... he…

If you have Facebook you can search for a local "Moms Run This Town" group and find some running partners.

Thank you Anvil for your thoughts. I hope I don't come across supporting the article from Lustig (confession: I didn't read it, it's not a site I typically would). I am hesitant to take things at face value in a forum because sometimes there's a lot of group think that may or may not be valid. This was a quick abstract…

Bear in mind I'm a newb when it comes to nutrition, but not a moron, can someone explain how sugar isn't addictive? Most the articles I'm seeing online say in big bold letters "sugar is addictive", but here people are scoffing at that idea. I just want to know where I'm getting information from.

I use my scale for everything. Zero it with a bowl/plate, put down the solids and weigh them, re-zero, then weigh the liquids/etc on top.
