I would try and find out if your spouse eats like that due to stress. Some people have never been taught or given a reason to relieve stress without greasy, sugary, salty foods. My husband has lost some weight during my journey. He supports me every way he can. Yet has multiple days a week where he just snacks and snacks…

My thoughts are, he can probably use a Google search and use a BMI calculator. I am also assuming he knows your weight and height. Perhaps that contributed to the 50 lbs. perhaps he is concerned for your health and not just sex appeal. I have a relative who was helping his spouse for health reasons. Not because he didn't…

What keeps me motivated? The desire to be healthy and the disgust that I felt when I was close to be clinically labeled as severely obese. Almost to goal and I have learned so much. I learned I am stronger than I once I thought. I can walk a 15:30 minute mile now down from 35 minutes. I have tons of energy. Don't get…

Where do I start. I have had some excited about me trying to lose weight and this some also mocked me when weight loss started to show. I have been told I'm unhealthy and assume I had cancer or something. Which I don't. I have people who use to talk to me that no longer talk to me. Good thing I am doing this for me and not…

Wow! The struggle you share brought tears to my eyes. I understand that feeling. I am however different, I do better by myself than with others. Thank you for sharing the struggle. It will help others feel not alone on this topic. Congratulations! For not giving in. Inspiration is the only word I can say.

Water weight is also caused by stress. I wouldn't worry right now, but if in a couple weeks there are no changes. Check the eating make sure you aren't eating more than allowed, check exercise. Sometimes we still need some just not as much. I am sure there will be more insightful information coming.

Awesome post. I decided to join my daughter in the 30 day squat challenge, but I added a personal twist. For every squat I do I will do a crunch. So far so good.

I agree that sometimes we can be our own enemy. I think peer pressure at any age adds extra stress and self doubt. Negativity is one of the hardest things to avoid these days. If you want something bad enough, you will do whatever it takes to get it. Weight loss, being healthy is no different. We need to decide for…

I think it all matters. If I need to reach a certain weight to have a " normal" BMI and to have healthy organs then weight matters. But being normal weight isn't everything. I think you need to be toned some as well to the best of your ability ( depends on age, ailments, etc). I personally am nearing the 60 lbs loss mark…

Fantastic! What an achievement.

I had this issue in the month of July. I slowed the intensity on the elliptical and did what I could. I was over heating so bad. First time I had ever experienced nearly passing out. I use to love the heat. I would sit outside all day, but this year was a no go. Don't stress over it. Just keep hydrated and do what you can.…

You said you are fit hike and walk regularly, I would be more worried that you will be intimidating those youngsters. You will be surprised how many youngsters are thin but have no energy, stamina, or strength. Looks like you've got it made. They will be the ones embarrassed. Let the competitions start. They will look to…

I used to be this way every 3-4 months hit a bad week where all I wanted to do is sleep. I found that if I opened all the curtains and let light in, sitting outside in the sun with a good a book really helped me. Sometime in life you just have to force yourself out of your slump. It's hard in the summer months because most…

You can add me if you would like. I will not debate one religion over another. But will offer prayer to help with the journey.

Only quitters quit. Those who want something really bad, will go after it harder than they want it. Example: a kid at a store asks mom /dad for a toy. They say no, the kids goes and gets it, brings it back to parent and explains all the functions on and all the sweet things it can do. Most of the time the kid gets the toy.…

Celery and peanut butter, apples and peanut butter or apple and cheese. I like taking an apple (cored and sliced)put cinnamon on it ( no sugar) and bake them in the oven until fork tender. You can use a microwave as well.

A stalk of celery has a lot in my opinion

We have a 19 1/2 year old chihuahua( Gizzy) who up until 4 yrs ago would walk 5 miles and look for more. We have a 10 yr old Siberian husky ( Timber) who didn't want to be a lead sled dog. So we picked him when he was 2 1/2 yrs old. He loves the indoors and is a true beauty to look at. Timber loves our 1 1/2 yr old cat.…

I have no reply, but thank you for asking the questions. Thinking about getting a bike with gears next spring. And you asked the questions I had. To the posters with the insightful answers, thank you.

I was diagnosed 12 yrs ago. I just want to tell you, yes you have to work 2 times as hard, but it can be done. For years I blamed my thyroid even when the tests said I was in the normal range due to meds. I was far from normal in everything else. I tried more times than not to lose this ugliness. Then I changed my outlook.…

I can not add anything new from what was already said. I will say, it IS Possible to lose weight. It does take some time to figure things out. In a couple of weeks you will be weighing your foods like a pro. You will find yourself stressing less. It is a personal journey. You will learn so much about how your body works…

Time for a check up with Dr and get some blood tests done including thyroid. Are you close to your goal weight? If you are at or close to the weight you are suppose to be, then it could be slow going. It could also be water retention due to salty diet.

Stop worrying about what others will think of you exercising in public. Be proud of yourself for not being the one still sitting on the couch. I love watching people go for walks, ride bikes, run. It is an inspiration to me. Not everyone who looks at you is judging. They could be thinking, if she can I can. Or wow that's…

Have you had more salt than usual? Could be water weight.

It is very rough sometimes. But you are stronger than yesterday. You had a melt down and we all do from time to time. Today is a new day. So lift your chin, put a smile on, and get back to eating right and exercising. I have hypothyroidism and it takes tons of work. I read how it is calories in and calories out. Which I…

Thank you all so very much. Love your wisdom. I will definitely add dumb bell exercises to my toning days. You all have given me the knowledge I needed. I will also look into some YouTube videos to alternate dumb bell and toning cords. The set of toning cords I have have 3 that are different resistance that I can use by…

My dumb bells right now go up to 25 pounds each or I can add the whole 50 pounds to one if I am working 1 arm at a time. I don't want to cut my calories. I am happy with the 1400-1450 calories I eat a day. It isn't too much and it isn't too little. I am never hungry and I am losing weight. MFP has me at 1200 but I like to…

Congratulations on the awesome loss. Wear what you want , you're an adult. People are cruel and most of them are friends and family. Put the hurtful words and emotional pain behind you and go enjoy life. I am super impressed with your loss. That truly is remarkable. Continue to share your journey with others. You are an…
