I will try painting again at a later date. The instructor here was less than enthusiastic about what I produced so I took a hiatus. I’m putting my creative energies into wood carving (whittling) and pottery-making right now. <3 Karen in Virginia

Annie, Take out the new battery, then (with no battery in the alarm) press the reset or test button for 30 seconds. Then put the new battery in. I hope that works for you. Karen in Virginia

Heather, You are a wonderful artist. I love your work. Lanette, I can hardly - in fact, I can not - imagine you as a complainer or someone who offered unsolicited advice about something you knew little about. I just can’t. Karen in Virginia

Rebecca, Your hair looks fabulous! Heather Love the monochromatic painting. <3 Karen in Virginia

Rebecca, I have noticed that when you speak your mind, you speak your heart. Sterling quality. Karen in Virginia

@cityjaneLondon Your post came through just fine! Well done on negotiating for the wine you wanted. And my sympathies for the disrupted sleep... Karen in Virginia

Let me say this again in a dedicated post: I truly appreciate the diligent efforts to keep this thread true to Barbie’s original intentions. Even when I don’t post much, I am reading along, and being sustained by my friends here. Thank you all so much. Love you all. Karen in Virginia

Oh! I see Barbie and I posted about the same movie. :) And I had to laugh - when Covid happened, I watched Breaking Bad all the way through - twice! Rewatching, I enjoyed the nuances and details I missed the first time through. It is violent and just wrong in so many ways. LOL. I haven’t watched all of Better Call Saul,…

Carol, Have you seen A Man Called Otto with Tom Hanks on Netflix? Poignant, sad, sweet, uplifting…and Tom Hanks!!! <3 Heather, Bon Voyage! _____ Hugs and support to all - this thread is my lifeline, appreciate the diligence to keep it just that. _____ _____ Karen in Virginia

Lanette, Marcella was actually pretty subdued, just getting over bronchitis. The months I spent in the ME’s office (1986-7) happened to coincide with the months that Patricia Cornwell was there, just before she wrote her first crime novel and became rich & famous. Who knew? Karen in Virginia

Lisa, I hope when I die some of my friends will have laughing/crying conversations about me. That’s the greatest honor I can imagine. Karen in Virginia

Barbara, Yes, the lunch was a wonderful time; Marcella Fierro doesn’t seem to age at all; she is a fellow crone for sure. Also saw another dear old friend who I haven’t seen in years and years. We have been invited to join them for lunch every month from now on, so we are super looking forward to it. Karen in Virginia
