  • I LOVE this!!! My cat does that too... except on my hip, obviously my hip bone is digging into her now  Otherwise my brother and I have lost between 1kg of each other (i.e. I've lost 15kgs, he's lost 16kgs), all the old birds at church yesterday kept telling me how much weight he had lost... but there was no…
  • Hey OP, Yip, it feels overwhelming when first starting out, but it is possible!! My advice would be take it one meal at a time. Can you eat a good healthy breakfast and track this accurately? Can you do the same with your snacks and your lunch? Finally can you have a filling, healthy, delicious dinner - the answer to all…
  • You can add me as well :)
  • Hi, Yip! Plenty of us have used this site to drop weight, some to gain weight and others to maintain weight. How about you give MFP a try for two weeks and see how you feel, then make a decision on whether you want to continue or not. :)
  • Hi, I am also from South Africa and have found MFP to be a great way to loose weight. Feel free to friend me and we can help each other along.
  • Prelogging!! I stick with the same breakfast and lunch during the week so I know how flexible I can be with snacks and dinner. This is incredibly helpful and forms a habit and makes me accountable for any issues that I have. :)
  • How long have you been doing the above? What are your current stats - age, weight, height etc. How are you measuring your intake - are you using a food scale or guestimating? A food scale is a necessity!
  • Hi, so I started my MFP journey at 107.1kg's that was on the 9th of May, it is now approx 18 weeks later and I have lost 15kg's. I have been eating incredibly well with no limits (i.e. no cutting out junk food, just the amount of junk food that's eaten) and started off with a 1730 calorie limit and am now down in the…
  • Hi, I'm currently 30 and in a similar situations, trying to get down to a lower weight and then go further from there - hoping to hit my lowish weight by December which is when my birthday is. Feel free to add me :)
  • Not from the UK but feel free to add me
  • Always good to have some new MFP friends :) Feel free to add me
  • Wow! You're so close to your goal... Feel free to add me :)
  • I'm always looking for new friends... Feel free to add me
  • Sometimes it will do it automatically (but there is no set weightloss that this will happen at) the easiest way is to reassess your goals every 5kgs/ 20 pounds that you lose.
  • Hi, So I was admitted to hospital 3 weeks ago and needed an operation etc. The only exercise I've been able to do in the 3 weeks is 3 x 5km slow walks (very slow!), in this time I've kept to my calorie goals (most days - sometimes you need to have a pity party and eat some sweets  but keeping the average during the…
  • I'll send you an ad now, always good to have friends :) Anyone else who would like to add me feel free!
  • All these stories/ experiences are amazing - you all have done so well! I wish I had a "great Weightloss story" but in truth I started MFP as a complete Lark. My brother lost a few KG's earlier this year and showed it to me, without any planning the next day I downloaded it and started counting - thankfully my first day…
  • Since I've been on MFP I've realized how wrong I've been about meal prep... Meal prep takes the bare minimum of time! I eat the same breakfast every morning in the same container - two weetbix, 1 cup of milk, 1/2 teaspoon of sugar, this takes all of two seconds to throw together. I'll eat pretty much the same meal for…
  • Hi, feel free to add me! I'm currently -20pounds with a lot more to go. :)
  • Hi! Congratulations on your recent weightloss - you've lost two KG's in three weeks, that's great and is at a healthy rate. Yes, you probably could lose more and adjust your calories but many people find this is not sustainable - give it a try and see. Basically weightloss is majorly about what you put in to your body…
  • I had that last montha few days before my TOM, I was completely ravenous and going crazy. I went for a walk so that I wasn't idly able to eat anything and that solved the problem, otherwise try fill up on things like salad greens, cucumber, low-calorie jelly etc. that you can eat a ton of and not blow your calories.
  • Jeepers! you seem to have the complete opposite problem to me - holidays and weekends are my worst because I'm out of my work time routine. Why not try preparing your food for the week and falling into an eating routine rather that relying on shakes? My old dietician once asked me why I would want to drink the calories in…
  • It really depends on how much you have to lose in total. I have a lot to lose and have managed to lose 9kgs in 10 weeks, try and see how you do.
  • Yip, losing weight can be tough... I think this post explains it incredibly http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10429668/why-it-can-sometimes-better-to-use-an-average-weight-rather-than-just-once-per-week#latest To me as long as I have a downward motion trend, that makes me happy :)
  • What do you enjoy doing that you wouldn't normally treat yourself to? For instance do you enjoy art then you could get yourself a months worth of art lessons, Sewing a new material to use, if you love make-up you could treat yourself to an item you wouldn't normally use. I know of people who did this with a gorgeous pair…
  • Hi, Feel free to add me... I'm 9kg's down and started 70 days ago. I've got an open diary and would also love some extra motivation!
  • Keep in mind that weight loss is linear, you're not always going to have losses. My question would be are you nearing your TOM? I put on up to 6pounds around that time with intense water retention etc. Also if you have upped your exercise routine then you could be retaining as well. As you are weighing in everyday, choose…
  • I eat around 1300 - 1600 per day (depending on exercise etc.) I find that I haven't had to specifically do or eat anything special for instance I used the recipe builder to get a calorie count for my usual spaghetti blognaise and it came to 250cal exl. pasta. Perhaps try have a peek in other peoples diaries to see what…
  • I would enter the competition for the extra motivation and accountability. Yes, you possibly would not win, but I feel like if it keeps you motivated and consistent then that is as good as winning besides you could motivate other people who have joined too! Just my two cents :)
