Hi all. With the newsfeed gone, I’m going over to Lose It! It has everything I needed from MFP, a good community and activity feed and it’s cheaper. Hope to see some of you there. I’m active under “Kat” and in the MFP Exodus group.

  • If you’re worried about hypertension, then you’d probably be looking to reduce Sodium intake. The Dash diet has some good low sodium options/recipes. Otherwise, what everyone else said. Best diet is one you can sustain indefinitely.

  • Try looking up some dash diet recipes, since those are usually lower in sodium and do your best to minimize packaged/processed foods, since those usually have a lot of sodium. Getting some regular exercise/activity and losing excess weight can help too. Good luck!

  • I don't have specific recipes, but the DASH diet is known to have low sodium recipes, since the primarily objective of that diet is heart health, helping to control blood pressure, etc. I'm sure if you google "dash diet" recipes, you'll probably be able to find something low sodium.

  • I haven’t seen any good science that states it’s bad in moderation. Obviously, I wouldn’t drink gallons of the stuff per day, but I like the flavor and drink it in moderation.
