The best way for me to keep my sodium down is by making my own foods at home. Even then, I have to watch it...it's maddening how much sodium bread and lunch meat have. Homemade pizza with pepperoni and canned veggies like olives & mushrooms is bad news. Canned soup is outrageous. (These are all things I like to eat). Take…

Cramping for me is usually some kind of electrolyte imbalance...might need some sodium, magnesium, or potassium. I have a list of potassium rich foods on my fridge (potatoes, bananas, squash, avocados are favorites), Epsom salts or Natural Calm for magnesium, and sodium is easy to come by.

The cookies are just laying around the office and then someone brings them to you and tries to push them on you? That is weird! Usually snacks don't last long enough in the break room for it to be an issue, they must be terrible.* *That's my story and I'm sticking to it. ** **That, or someone who didn't wash their hands…

I've heard that losing up to 1.5% per week is still ok, and at your weight you are close to that. If you keep losing at a higher rate, you might take a look at your activity level, you might have it set too low. Sometimes the sluggishness, etc. from undereating comes on slowly so just keep an eye on it.

Roasted vegetables--especially beets and squash. Steamed fresh cauliflower. Forcing myself to find ways to eat/tolerate/maybe even *like* vegetables has been huge. I can almost eat avocados by the slice now. Kalona full-fat cottage cheese, out of this world good. I eat more shrimp now and am no longer scared of scallops.…

Just take your best guess, and if you do not lose at the rate you expect, tweak your calories down a bit to account for inaccuracies. It seems unnecessarily stressful to worry so much about this when you are unable to take the steps needed to make your calculations more accurate (i.e. weighing raw ingredients, separately).…

When I started running, I was trying to go too fast for my fitness level at that time and it would burn in my chest. I slowed it down, and it went away as I got in better shape. C25K helped me pace myself better.

I was going to say that your diet looks way too low in fat to me, which would leave me starving, but after the other discussion on this page I'm worried I am going to look spammy. (no links o:) )

There are plenty of additional ways to gain water weight though (as opposed to fat weight). If that junk food contains a lot more sodium than you typically eat, you will hold onto additional weight to deal with the extra sodium, so it may look like you gain weight even if you do not go over your calories (it's not fat…

Looking at the website below, it seems like you might possibly qualify for regular rehab (not intensive), under stable chronic heart failure? https://www.medicare.gov/coverage/cardiac-rehab-programs.html I know a younger person with near heart-transplant levels of heart failure who was able to get cardiac rehab without…

There are also quite a few entries in the database that are mildly to very wrong, if my macros are really off from the calories I can usually track it down by looking at the individual foods.

I am wondering this myself. Even at 6'7" 170 is within the normal range, at 6'2" it's almost smack dab in the middle of the healthy BMI range, at 5'9" it is overweight.

So this is what it looks like in action...I always just see the aftermath and thought the cat was using it as a rolling scratching post!

Breakfast 400 Lunch 400 PM Snack - sometimes Dinner - whatever I have left

I like scrambled eggs when I am sick (as long as it's not a stomach bug).

It looks like a weirdly cut top to me. For some reason tank tops seem prone to being ill-fitted (at least for me). The straps also seem to be slanting in toward your neck, which probably also squeezes the armpit area more than straight straps would.

Partial day fasting as a mental discipline is more familiar to me in that kind of scenario than taking extra food. I find I need a lot less food when I am doing intensive work of that sort (likely because I am not as physically active).

If you are really gaining 5 pounds a WEEK over an extended period of time without excessive overeating, you need to see a doctor who will take you seriously. Bring weight logs, food logs, etc. That could be a very serious medical condition. Please see another doctor or possibly a cardiologist.

I would learn how to make some bean/lentil soups that do not contain as much sodium. You could make a huge batch and portion out/individually package/freeze the soups so that at meal time they would be as easy as the canned soups, without the excess sodium.

I would like to join!

For me, enjoyable means not going too fast if I am not feeling it (and going fast if I am), and possibly someone to talk to (or music to listen to or people to watch or a problem to ponder), to make the time pass by.

50 pounds lost was only 1 inch off my calves and it wasn't because they started small. I did eventually find a pair of wider calf boots that would fit me and was happy with that. How much weight do you have to lose? Have you been able to wear boots in the past at a lower weight? That might give you an idea of how much of…

I go early, late, or indoors. Heat + humidity + exertion drains me too much once it gets past a certain point.

This. With panko or crushed cornflakes (or crushed potato chips >:) ) they bake just fine with no added oil. Sometimes I just press a bit of breading on the top of the breasts and leave the undersides plain so that I get the taste and a bit of crunch without as many carbs.

If logging 15 minutes of jogging gave you an extra 100 calories, it might not be too far off for an hour of active playing like that. Depending on the age of the kids, the competitive running aspect could have been more than some of you seem to realize. :)

If you haven't changed previously maintenance level eating, burning an average of 500 extra calories with walking will translate to a pound a week lost. Sounds right!

It might be easier to use an uncooked value for rice. If she makes two servings of rice and 1 TB of oil and you eat half (of the total cooked amount) you know that you can count 1 serving of rice and 1/2 TB oil. I have never needed to use oil/margarine when cooking rice and it turns out great. If GF is willing, she could…

Are you saying that you eat at least 3 hours before you workout or even longer? I would try eating something a lot closer to your workout, maybe a piece of fruit or toast 30 minutes before.

To be on the high end of normal BMI and look lean, you are going to have to have a lot of muscle, and this may take a while (multiple bulk/cut cycles). Figuring out your body fat % and starting that process might get you closer to the look you want.
