Yes you're right. Somebody was implying that twice a day was OCD. I guess we all need to realize that when we're on the internet, we're playing to an international audience, and there can't be a "one size fits all" prescription.

It should be obvious. Intelligent people would be expected to understand the reasoning behind the suggestions and not just the specific details of the rules.

Tough call here. I agree with all your arguments for staying open, but adult disobedience to authority isn't instilling the right values in the next generation of children. This is hard for me to comprehend.
