Log it and move on is excellent advice. But I'd suggest log it and move. Get outside and go for a long walk in the park or anywhere nice near you. You will work off the cookies and feel much better! We all fall of the wagon sometimes. It's not the end of the world.

It sounds to me as if you are doing really well. You'll find people like you in the gym. Don't be sad, we are all rooting for you. Don't sit alone in your room, get out and enjoy life's cabaret, whether it's a walk in the park, a trip to the book store or sharing a nice low cal drink with a friend. Above all stay connected.

I think it's not so much about when you eat meals but about what you do afterwards. The logic of a big breakfast is that it gives you ready fuel to work all morning. I've taken to having a short walk after dinner, which I feel helps the digestion and walks off any extra calories I might have consumed at dinner. My doctor…

I'm not sure how old/overweight you are or how busy your schedule, but I'm pretty sure that modern Muslim advice on Ramadan fasting has been modified to take account of the fact that our lives are very different these days. Also if you live closer to the poles than Mecca, your fast will be longer than the original…

Thanks that's very helpful. I can't publish my goals. This app won't let me.

Thanks for some really helpful ideas. I don't eat any slimming products and I never go for low fat alternatives as I'm suspicious of the factory processes they go through. I use raw full fat Jersey milk and make my own yogurt from that. I'm not sure that I should view high fat items as 'treats'. Might that not be…

You look great to me. Best not always dwell on body image though. If You are on a sensible diet and exercising you are on a good route. Take if from one whose been slim and fat. I never felt an iota different on the inside regardless of my weight. Slimming won't solve your low spirits. In fact lack of food can cause them.…

I read the contents and didn't look further. Instead I bought a £20 stick blender and make my own shakes using fresh fruit and raw whole milk. I'm losing quickly and healthily. (Though you do have to watch your nutrition more closely.)

I'm trying to crack this one too. I've been on many successful diets in my life but always I've more than gained all that weight after a few years. I've been doing a bit of research and found three tips that I'm going to try when I get back to my ideal weight (from the NHS health chart). 1. Keep active. It doesn't have to…

Loads of good advice already given. Here are a few more tips that I've found useful. 1. Get the other guests on your side: I tell the guests at the buffet that I'm on a strict diet? I find I usually get most people's help and support, even if they are strangers. 2. Just say no: It's easy to eat very badly at buffets. Even…

You are doing tremendously well to diet while you are working nights. Working night shifts is really bad for your health and these days your employer (especially if it's a biggish organisation) should be offering you support in things like diet. Ask if they have a fitness programme for shift workers. Your employer has a…

This is a really tricky situation and I'm not sure that to tell her you love her anyway, whatever weight she is, is the right answer. You are both very young to be overweight and you are right that unless both of you lose weight now you can look forward to a very impaired and sadly shortened life. If your wife were an…

I think most people are giving you the same advice. Packeted 'slimming' foods like protein shakes are a useful fall back because they do (generally) contain a balanced meal. But they are expensive and full of chemicals. You will find that home made soups and milkshakes are not difficult to make and provide a far more…

I'd love to join you. I also need a but of support and I'm new to this app. My name is Wendy and I live in London.

A little salt should make the eggs more palatable. Don't smother them with sauces or dressing, they should taste fine on their own. Combine with grated carrot, very thin strips of cucumber, radish and celery. The French call this salad 'crudité' and its a staple of Paris bistros. Thinly sliced hard boiled eggs still warm…

You are being too hard on yourself. The gym isn't for everyone. I notice you have a dog. If you find the gym a bore you could try taking the dog on long rambles after work instead. Even better get the doggie walk in early during these long summer days and get your exercise over and done with before starting work. Walking…

I've put myself on a very low calorie diet. I find a milk shake with a bit of fruit for breakfast is much nicer than a packeted shake. If you look on the contents of the 'meal supplements' the protein comes from powdered milk, the flavour artificial, the sweetness is corn starch! I'd much prefer the real thing and the…
