My husband uses a Nettie Pot every day and swears it helps. He used to get a lot of sinus headaches and very rarely has them now. I used to work for the school district up until this year, so I completely get the fact you would be drinking Airborne non-stop. From what I understand it was actually invented by a teacher…

Back before this way of eating, I used to be guilty of taking people I appreciated sweets to eat. I know better now, but at least know that what you do is appreciated. :)

I will remember this if I ever get sick. I always knew tequila had to have some kind of health benefit  I think I've had maybe one or two colds in the last decade, and have never had the flu, but one of my sons swears drinking Airborne works if you start drinking it when the people around you are sick.

I don't have much experience with your exact issues, but do have problems with digestion do to low stomach acid. I've found that taking digestion enzymes helps quite a bit with stomach pain. In my case I also avoid meat, (it used to give me horrible stomach pain) but that does make this way of eating quite a bit more…

Frittatas are good, my husband (my kitchen skills are lacking) says to use 5 or 6 eggs, about 1/2 feta cup of cheese, and olives. Its kind of like a Mediterranean omelet. Mix it all up and bake for 30 minutes or so at 350.

EVERYTHING I try to cook is pretty much a fail. When the kids were little the smoke detector would occasionally go off, one day my oldest who was about 5 yelled, "Dad, dinner's ready," when he heard the alarm. Another time they told me it was OK if I let dad cook sometimes, "his food has good flavors." Sadly in 30 years of…

Being gluten free helps quite a bit with my joint and fibro pain and helps keep the carbs low, as well as the tummy calm. I ran across this article about gluten this morning and thought it was interesting.... http://expand-your-consciousness.com/maybe-arent-gluten-intolerant-maybe-youre-just-poison-intolerant/?t=HHL

Love it!!

There is a lot of information on the launch pad to help, especially with the first few days, lots of helpful people too. (My hubby had a hip replacement when he was 35, it wasn't as nearly as bad as he anticipated.) Good luck!

@bametels - Congrats on the smaller size! @mandycat223 - I used to work at the high school and almost all of the girls wore clothes that were way too tight on them. They were usually just trying to get the boys' attention, but I always wondered how on earth they could breathe. In my world just eating lunch would make a…

You might want to double check how much fluid you should actually be drinking. When I was working with a nutritionist, he told me to drink at least 1/2 of you pound weight in ounces. So if you are around 212 lbs you would be drinking closer to 106 ounces or about 13+, 8 oz glasses of liquid.

I usually have one night a week that my carbs are quite a bit higher. I don't eat meat so my high carb meals are usually vegetable and potato based or I splurge on extra fruit. I figure that since it isn't grains or refined sugar, it isn't too bad, and it doesn't seem to trigger junk food cravings. It hasn't stopped weight…

Awesome!

If you keep moderate, not high protein, and stay hydrated there really shouldn't be any additional stress on you kidneys.

@RowdysLady you do not look old enough to remember that! I like your new profile pic :)

I don't eat meat but do eat dairy and it isn't too difficult. It just takes a month or so to figure it out. I think as a vegan you just need to set your carb macro a little higher and count NET, not total carbs, that's what I do and it's been working very well. If you like coconut and avocado, that will help quite a bit…

@KnitOrMiss WOW! thank you for posting the info on norepinephrine. I just looked it up and think that may be a part of my problem. I would have never come up with that. Also what is the safe amount of potassium to take? Most supplements don't have much and I've read too much can be bad for your heart.

I'm anxious to hear what answers you get. I react similarly and can't quite seem to get the balance right. I'm pretty sure it has to do with hydration, but not sure exactly how to tweak things to make it right. I have really low blood pressure too and am not diabetic or pre-diabetic. @midwesterner85 that is interesting, I…

Riche is short for Richelle (I usually go by Shelli though) 120-ish is my goal weight. I thought if I saw the goal in writing everyday it would help me to stay focused on it.

Welcome! There is a lot of information on the launch pad that you might find helpful if you're new to this way of eating. Lots of really knowledgeable, helpful people are on here too. :)

My hands and feet constantly get numb and tingly. I was told it can be caused by poor circulation (duh), low adrenal function and sometimes low blood pressure, along with a bunch of more serious things. An hour is kind of a long time to stay numb though, you might want to mention it to your doctor, just in case it is a…

That is awesome! You are going to be my inspiration. I'm uncoordinated and don't like cardio either. I joined a Pilates class by the senior center hoping I could hold my own. NOPE, I'm the youngest one in the class at almost 50 yrs old and those older ladies own me! So, so sad but I'll keep trying. Keep us posted of your…

...and me CW: 129 GW: 123 5'3" (and a 1/2 if I stand up straight) :)

You can add me as a friend. I don't have much left to lose but would love to cheer you on and watch your progress. I'm not much for modern health care either and think most things can be cured with diet (this way of eating has worked wonders for my arthritis and fibro.)

I don't think I would even run if a Zombie was chasing me. A zombie has to eat something, and I'm a low carb option ~ lol

SW: 147 CW: 128 GW: 120-ish maybe a little higher if I get ambitious and actually work out and develop some muscle tone.
