  • Since you are eating low carb now, you may want to double check that you have increased your water intake quite a bit. You don't retain as much fluid on a low carb diet and that could be adding to your troubles.
  • My visual was of a shot glass full of nuts - lol. Maybe it was a just a convenient way for someone to consistently measure how many they usually ate?
  • I've been doing low carb (almost keto) for quite a while. I just found this group. :)

  • Check out Dr. Jason Fung's work (youtube, blog, books). He has a lot of info on Keto as well as intermittent fasting. He encourages skipping meals if you aren't hungry and explains why snacking all day actually sabotages weight loss.
  • @Ralflott Thanks for the info. I didn't know about that one.
  • @tcunbeliever most avocado trees grown from seed won't set fruit until they are 5 - 7 years old. My mom had a huge, old tree that she had grown from seed and it eventually produced like crazy. Good luck with yours!
  • Its possible, just a takes a little more creativity. :)
  • I have a friend who owns an avocado grove with several varieties of avocados. I just sent her the link to get her opinion on them. Here is what she responded. "What a great gimick! Avos picked prior to ideal maturity. They have less fat content, more watery! I just had a small one that fell off the tree. It ripened…
  • If you are following NET carbs you shouldn't have much trouble getting a little more variety in your fruits and vegetables. If you track your TOTAL carbs you might find it a bit more limiting.
  • Thank you for the recommendations and suggestions!
  • Just a thought to help with eating the egg..... I have chickens (no rooster, just hens) they will lay an egg almost every day. The chickens are pets, well cared for, fed organically and even have names. The eggs are not fertile because there is no rooster, so no animal is being harmed by eating the eggs. They will lay them…
  • Aside from the good advice above, could you be fight off something? Maybe you were exposed to something and didn't realize it, or even a little extra stress can make you pretty tired.
  • I don't know of a keto friendly wine, but if you save your carbs up you can spend them on wine without a problem depending on what your macros allow. That's what I do and it doesn't cause me any problems. I agree that red is probably better than white and carb wise you are better off with hard liquor.
  • I have fibro too and lost 20 pounds without exercise. I tried a few times, but was miserable, I also have back issues and exercise just wasn't a great option. After a year of low carb, I am just now starting to feel like I can add in gentle exercise, so that in itself is a win (NSV). So don't feel like a lack of exercise…
  • So many great suggestions! Thank you! @ladipoet I’ve never tried the protein powder’s so I will give that a try along with the nutritional yeast. @trish55011 I don’t use any artificial sweeteners, I haven’t found one that I like yet. My only sweet beverage is wine and I’ll be really sad if that turns out to be my problem.…
  • @canadjineh Thanks, I'm pretty much gluten free already and you're right, it does help with the fibro.
  • @RalfLott Sure, lets go with full moon - lol
  • I have been having a similar problem this week. I assumed it was heat related though, both the lack of sleep and water retention, but I'm really not sure (its been hot and humid this week.) Hopefully someone with more knowledge on the subject can help out.
  • 8 pounds, even if it is just water weight, will still make your jeans fit better ~ congrats! Think of it as a little bit of a head-start for your weight loss.
  • That makes a lot of sense. If you walk on a treadmill until you are getting slightly winded and then take several slow deep breathes, but don’t change your pace, your heart rate will go down. You can actually watch the numbers drop on the screen, as soon as you do it. Since your heart rate increases when you are under…
  • As far as vegan/vegetarian keto blogs they are hard to find, but here is one.... http://healthygamergirl.com/
  • @RalfLott Thanks
  • Looking younger is not the same thing as looking better. People sometimes look worse after plastic surgery when they do it just to look younger. There are a LOT of people that actually look better as they get older. I personally think that most of the time a slimmer, older face is more attractive and healthier, than a…
  • When I was having severe energy and pain issues, my doctor suspected fibro and also low Vitamin D. He said that people with fibro or depression almost always test low on D, but said the jury was out on which was the cause and which was the effect. The lab test showed <0.4 (My guess is that's as sensitive as the lab…
  • Don't worry, just give it a little bit of time. Its possible you've gotten to a point where your body is able to start working on healing. I've read that during that time fat loss will stall for a bit but your health will start to improve. The fat loss will pick back up again. There are a few people on here who have gone…

  • My nutritionist was the one who diagnosed low stomach acid. I would get stomach cramps and bloating whenever I ate anything that required a high acidity to digest. An elimination diet for a while confirmed it. There are probably more exact tests though. I've found that taking digestive enzymes with "difficult to digest"…
  • I save my carbs for wine too. It seems to slow down my weight loss just a little, but I'm close to my goal and happier with wine than losing quickly. It's all about finding the right balance. :)
  • I'm primarily vegetarian but will once in a great while have fish. Right now I to keep my carbs under 40, but my aim is to stay adapted to burning fat for fuel instead of carbs, not necessarily to be in ketosis. You may notice that the numbers you have set for your macros may work great now, but there may come times when…
  • I haven't had a problem with hair loss yet, but the last time I was getting my hair cut my stylist said that most of her clients do seem to lose more hair while losing weight.
