This is something I've just started getting. Interestingly, to me at least, it started after I'd switched to maintainance - not while I was still losing. Most of the people who've said it were honestly concerned. I just thanked them for noticing that I'd lost weight and said I was quite happy at my new size.

My mom always gets around 1K steps when we rehearse bells. Interestingly, I don't find that I get as many as her (and my part is usually busier, since I have melody notes and she has bass chords).

I was in church and looked down at my watch to see that I'd gotten 5000 steps in the last hour... of sitting. I realized afterwards that it was because it was tracking me using a handfan as steps. Now, I wear the watch on the other wrist on Sunday morning. My mom had something similar with winding yarn.

My normal breakfast is yogurt with either nuts (on the side) or granola (in the yogurt). Sometimes, I'll eat fruit of some kind (oranges, apples, grapes) and some cheese. Sometimes, I'll eat peanut butter on toast. I've also had times when I will have hard boiled eggs in the refrigerator - made ahead - so that I can eat…

When I first started trying to lose weight, I lost steadily for the first couple months. Then, I hit a plateau for about three months before I started losing again. That said, I can say with near absolute certainty that my plateau was caused by CI being equal to CO - I was basically at maintainence without intending to be.…

I don't really do five meals a day - at least, not the way that I define a meal (sit down and eat, usually with a drink on the side). I have three meals and two or three snacks. So, I guess, in a way, that's five or six meals (if you define a meal as a time when you ate anything). Anyway, on the days that I cheat, I don't…

I was going to say this as well. It also doesn't require warming up/cooking at the office. You just break open the lunch box and eat. I make sandwiches with deli meat (chicken, turkey, ham) on a small wrap or even just simple chicken salads/seafood salads/maccaroni salads and bring those with me in a container that I keep…

When I don't exercise, I'm lucky to get 5000 steps. Usually -without taking an extra walk or five - I get right around 3500 steps. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that's sedentary. That's why I set MFP to sedentary - then I eat back all/most of the calories I get when I do exercise. Also, if you look at MFP's…

I'm just a couple pounds away from my weight loss goal. For me, the Aha Moment was when my mom (who was on her own weight loss journey) weighed less than me. She's taller than me, so it was just... it was like a kick in the pants that I needed to get rid of the extra weight I was carrying. The actual process was a gradual…

I try my best to log everything - so I know just how "bad" I've been on a day I don't stick to my calorie goals. It gives me an idea of what to do next time I'm in the same situation. For example, this past Saturday, I went someplace and had a footlong hotdog with sauce and a huge serving of fries and a "small" ice cream…

I'm 5'4" and currently at 146 pounds, with two more pounds to go until I reach my goal. My calorie limit right now - without exercise - is 1460 calories (set to lose a half pound each week, so not aggressive). On most days, I can get this without feeling hungry. I do excercise, but I have seldom exercised enough that I…

On one hand, I get what you're saying. If I went by the idea that "eating outside of my diet = a cheat day", I would say that I seldom plan my cheat days. I very seldom say, "Today, I'm going to eat outside of my diet." That doesn't mean that I seldom do so. I did last Saturday... and the Saturday before that. I can…

I don't have cheat days or meals. Generally, I have enough calories left at the end of the day that I can have a little treat - 100 calories of ice cream or chocolate - without going over my deficit. Sometimes, I have days where I get very close to may limit (birthdays, vacations, etc.). On those days, I might not have my…

I've been eating the Fiber One Protein bars - the Cookies and Creme and the Peanut Butter - because... I need a bit more fiber and protein. Also... they are chocolate covered and yummy.

I'm the same as you. I'm not saying I doubt what people are saying. I'm sure it's real for them. I just can't understand what makes a meal prepared at place A different from the same meal prepared at place B or at home. A lot of the places people have mentioned... I've eaten at and had no problems - except for…

I have to say... If I went by the definitions of some of the people here, I would never log exercise. I know, at least for me, that's not correct - I am exercising. I'm just not in a position to be able to go out for walks of an hour+. I'm not the type of person who sweats very much. Unless it's 95+ degrees out, the sweat…

For me, by biggest problem came from becoming very sedentary. It's too easy for me to overeat if I'm not active. I cut down on some things, but the only things I really cut out entirely were migraine triggers (Red 40 and aspartame - which are fine for many people, but make my head feel like someone's got a hammer in there…

I never new you could eat rutabaga and beets raw. I wonder if I'd actually eat them that way.
-
My favorite vegetables - cucumbers, yellow squash, zuccini, tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower and radishes and snap peas - I eat raw. Sometimes, I add salt or a little bit of seasoning. I also love brussel sprouts, but I usually eat them from frozen, so they're boiled and cut in half with just a little butter. I plan to try…

I find walking, swimming, cycling, hiking and yoga fun. I like things that get me outside and moving. I like things that stimulate my mind. Sit-ups, pushups, squats, lunges and lifting weights all seem to be about "Stand here and do this X number of times." I need something to distract myself from the conscious thought…
-
The problem is, at least for me, if it's not at least somehow stimulating to my mind... I just won't do it.

There are some indoor places near me, so I'll check those out. Thank you!
-
Yay! I'll look into the different types of yoga and see what I can do with that. I find it so relaxing and fun at the same time.
-
I may have to look into this. That might be a good way for me to have fun and still get the strength training I should be getting.
-
I'd heard this as well. Would it be better to carry weights while I walk? Then, I could arm exercises at least and incorporate the strength training into my walks.

The people who've mentioned cookies... that's me too! I've never cared for oatmeal, except in cookies. My mom makes chocolate chip oatmeal cookies with the oats ground so fine, you barely know they're oatmeal cookies. Amazing! That's the only way to eat it for me. ;)

My aunt is 5'2" and... I don't know if she lifts or not, but I know that she and my mother (5'7" and definitely not petite) walk (briskly, 3.5-4 mph, maybe more) around 7 miles a day. I'm just at the tallest end of what's typically called petite (5'4") and all I do right now is cardio. I don't understand this "I hate…

I shoot for the advised 8 glasses a day. When it's hot and humid and I've been out and active in it, then I'll drink more. I think the most I've gotten in a day is a gallon - it was about 100 degrees out and very sticky, so drinking was about the only thing that saved me. If I drink something like lemonade or juice or…

Don't eat alone. If you have someone to talk to, then you'll eat more slowly. To prevent overeating, you could just watch your portion sizes. Pre-log and don't eat more than you've logged. After you've finished your logged meal, leave the table.

This was more my problem. I always knew when I was hungry and I needed to have food. It's only more recently that I've begun recognizing the other side and knowing when I was full. For me, eating more slowly was a big help there. At school, we have 15 minutes for lunch. At college, I sometimes had just half an hour for…
