I'm 20, feel free to add me

I tried a few of the different brands or combined pills before my doctor had to take me off then because of other medical stuff, but they were absolutely fine in terms of appetite etc, and I had very few (if any) side effects. I then went onto a progesterone only pill (or the 'skinny pill') which made me really hungry and…

I also have PCOS (along with IBS, CFS, depression etc) and put on 10kg when the doctor put me on the progesterone only contraceptive pill to try and sort out irregular bleeding. So far I've lost 5kg and am trying to loose the rest while getting more healthy to combat the symptoms of everything else. Feel free to add me, I…

Thankyou, this is such a mammoth issue and it's so great to know it's not just me!

I love naps!

I'm also on team hummus here, if you get some little tubs then you can portion it out quite well (1tbsp is around 30 calories) to make it easier to keep track of/log. That's the same for any dip I guess though

Thankyou for all your wonderful advice :) it's also majorly comforting to know that I'm not the only one who's dealing with this sort of thing, and have been on a longer time scale. A lot of the time it's easy to beat yourself up about not being able to do whatever, so all the things you've been saying are great :)

I'm waiting to go for more testing at the moment, but the CFS consultant said something about metabolic fatigue and how it links to things like depression and anxiety (which is also an issue for me).

I'm in a similar position (2nd year undergrad) and find the thing I slip up on most is snacks when I'm working (especially when I'm tired or doing an all nighter). I think the things I've discovered most is: 1. It's ok to mess up! 2. Don't pull all nighters unless 100% necessary, because it just makes me tired and grumpy,…

You guys are brilliant! I was feeling similar and thought I'd have a read, thankyou to people for being so honest :) I've found with all of it that it's about recognising that food/calories aren't your enemy in all of this and it's about alternatives... so I can still enjoy that yummy Chinese I want to eat, but I'll make…

Feel free to add me too, I'm currently down almost 5kg but want to loose another 5+ and more importantly get to a decent level of fitness :)

Cashew nuts, almonds, Brazil nuts... all things like that are full of good things but high in calories

Other than the brilliant food substitutions above, anything green is usually a good thing! I've got IBS so my body can randomly decide it can't deal with random foods, but have found that getting lots of veg and stir frying it together (with appropriate protein and carbs to go with) is a good way to try new…

I've found both work, but it generally works best if I eat an hour or so after getting up, then I actually focus on what I'm eating (as opposed to being in a sleep-filled blur) so seem to get less hungry and so snack less before lunch!

Frozen fruit, especially frozen strawberries are my favourite. I cut them up and freeze them on non-stick paper a baking tray, then put them in freezer bags once frozen. You can do it with other fruit too, and a lot of supermarkets sell things like frozen blueberries and melon balls, which are really yummy :)
