  • Love this, would love it more if it automatically synced with my fitbit.
  • I have a son (4) and a daughter (2), and I've done my best to only play games in front of them that are age appropriate. So a lot of Golf, Football, and Lego based games. I let him play the Lego games, he loves making the characters "fall down" to their death. It's quite humorous to him. I've debated getting him Minecraft,…
  • It sounds like littlechiaseed might have it worse than I do, because I don't have a prescription. My doctor recommended I look into a probiotic, and my friend who is a nutritionist helped me read labels and pick one called Culturelle.
  • I think it depends on your situation and how strict you have to be with the diet. With this past week being Halloween, I'm definitely not skipping my pill. But back in August I went a week without it because I forgot to pack it on a trip. I was very strict with my diet and didn't notice any increased bloating. I know my…
  • I'm on a FODMAP diet for about a year, it's rough at times. But between the diet and a daily culturelle i'm up to the point where I can have about one meal a week where I don't care. As Cbestinme said, you eliminate everything, heal your gut, then slowly reintroduce things to find what you can get away with and what you…
  • I've been making pizza's on joesph's lavash bread. 60 calories, 6 grams of protein for half a slab which is about the size of the inside of a toaster oven. Add 1/4 cup of classico pizza sauce (40), 1/4 cup low fat mozarella (100), and 3 oz chopped grilled chicken (120), toss it in the oven at 450 for 5-7 minutes and we're…
  • So my basement is mostly basement with a gym parts wherever i can find room. Our house has like no closet space, so a lot of the basement floor has to do double duty. In one corner I have my rack, bench, and Christmas decorations. Depending if I'm doing squats or bench press I move the boxes around. Near the stairs I have…
  • I've always had a hard time freezing grains like pasta / rice. They never reheat as well as a sauce / meat / veggie. Any suggestions on prep methods?
  • With my limited schedule I've learned to make massive meals on the weekends and eat leftover's all week. Sure it gets repetitive, but it gets the job done. After I cook, i portion the leftovers into 4 cup pyrex dishes that I can bring to work and toss in a microwave. Generally I eat about two cups of steamed veggies, 6-8oz…
  • I've never actually logged my workout in MFP. I trust the data that is carried over from my fitbit for "calories burned". I wonder if I should be logging my exercises instead...
  • I think it's great that you have a plan and are looking to implement it. I have two kids under the age of five, and an hour commute, so I can relate. I use an app called Fitness Point to track my progress. It has some routines, but has a pretty big inventory of exercises to do. They each have animations and descriptions of…
  • I worked the graveyard shift for five years and want to echo what ZoeCroker stated about boredom eating. There is only so much you can do to keep yourself busy on that kind of shift. Being a lot younger, that meant I played a lot of video games, ate a lot of pizza, and drank a lot of soda. Being almost 40 now, I'd make…
  • Welcome to the party thadd!
  • @ DancingMoosie, I am currently doing separate back, arms, core, shoulder, legs and chest day. And it's a spinning bike because I commute to / from work on a bike. It's really the only cardio I can stand. As my old coach would say he wouldn't be surprised to see me leisurely walk out of a burning building.
  • Oh and I'm trying to lose weight by exercising more in case that helps.
  • First I want to thank everyone who has responded, this is great feedback. I'm a relative noob, only been at weight lifting for about 6 months now after taking 15 years off. Basically I only get 30 minutes to work out a night. I generally get through three sets of three different exercises doing as heavy weights as I can.…
  • I have the blaze and love it. I particularly like it's silent vibrating alarm function. It wakes me up, reminds me that it's time to start bedtime routine, and if I have been sitting at my desk for a while, it let's me know to get up and walk around. The only thing I dislike is that I fear water getting on it. I'm not sure…
  • I've been using the countdown feature on my fitbit between sets, and hopping on my spinning bike. I've noticed that if I'm sitting around doing nothing I tend to get distracted easily.
  • I want to echo what a lot of people have said, you have to come up with what works best for your DILO/WILO. I have a home gym. Between work and my two small kids (4 & 2) I never find time to hit the gym. But I can find 10-15 minutes 3-4 times a day to head downstairs and bang out a couple of sets on the free weights,…
  • I'm not super knowledgable about the protein/calorie ratio, so that's good to know. 210mg sodium, 8g of fat, 1g dietary fiber, 12g sugar alcohol, 9g "other carb"
  • I am on a high protein diet, and do agree with a lot of the advice here. The only thing I'd add is a protein bar. I personally use ThinkThin protein bars. 20g of protein, 0g sugar, 230 calories.
