I thought about these items and I am guilty of being lax on most of them. I evaluated my diet. I hadn't finished dieting but I was regaining weight. I had a lifestyle-changing diet (Weight Watchers) but I quit following the new habits I had acquired. Guilty. I quit exercising. I don't know why. I just did. I used to swim…

It's called yo-yo dieting. And yes, been there, done that, gained it back, PLUS MORE! So, good for you that you want to stop it now before you gain it all back. I've been researching how to stop gaining weight. One suggestion was to change how you fix your food: different spices, broil it instead of bake it, etc. Also, try…

I lost my motivation at -61. Too bad for me because I had at least another 40 to go. I haven't found my motivation. I'm researching motivation and will have a post on it in the next day or two.

For motivation, look for what we call "non-scale victories". With 10 pounds to lose, you don't have the physical milestones many of us looked forward to: no back pain, no knee pain, walking without huffing and puffing, etc. You are doing the right thing by losing weight at 10 pounds rather than 100 pounds. There isn't a…

You might want to check out the "Challenges" message board. They have several activity challenges on there. I found them motivating as I tried to increase my activity and keep up with others.

Welcome back! Your story is mine and many times over. I can't even count the number of times' I've lost weight only to gain it back plus more. I really like MFP. They have an enormous food database and exercise database. And I really like all the reports to break down my food into different categories. IT helps me balance…

I need motivation. And I will be more than happy to congratulate you on your success. Losing weight is hard work.

Congratulations on losing 55. That's great! I lost 61 pounds, my routine and support system changed (not by my choice), and I lost my motivation. It's been months and I haven't gotten it back yet. I've gained weight, and I know it won't stop until I gain it all back plus more, so I MUST stop it now AND lose more. About…

If you lose an average of one pound per week, you will lose 100 pounds in two years. I know! I know! You want to lose it faster! But if you don't start now and set an achievable goal, where will you be in two years? 20 pounds heavier? 30 pounds heavier? Think about what you want most: a one pound weigh loss? or more…

Can I have both?

Have you tried lemon in water? Lime in water is different, too. What about teas? They have a lot of flavored teas.

Food addiction is real. I was watching "Nurse Jackie" on Netflix and saw her destructive behavior. She was so obsessed with getting drugs for her next high that she destroyed everything that was important to her. I want to lose weight. I follow my food plan, track what I eat, and then throw it all away for 30 seconds of…

It sounds as if you want to lose a few pounds as well as tone your body a little bit. If you exercise, you may find that your body changes as it tones and you will be happy at 150. Take your measurements. You might get discouraged because you haven't lost the pounds you expected but you will have lost the inches. Muscle…

Please start a new thread. I'd love to keep up with all of you but the posts start back in July. You are now 15 pages. I'd like to find people I can keep track of on a regular basis, and you people might be it. I, too, am an ex-WW.

Struggle every day? No, I struggle every MEAL! Don't feel nervous posting stuff like this. We have all been where you are, felt what you're feeling, and want what you want: to lose weight. You are in the right place to achieve this. You will fall off the wagon - unintentionally, I mean. Sometimes I allow myself a cheat…

Congratulations on keeping weight off. You are right to jump on it and want to get down to your previous low. I hope this diagnosis is right. I always feel better when I know what I am dealing with. Twenty pounds by the end of the year may be a little aggressive. There are 11 Mondays between now and December 31. That is…

MFP has a "200+ pounds to lose" message board. It has "Weight Watchers" in the name but that is where they started. Some of them do WW and some do calorie counting on MFP. Several of the people started dieting when they weighed over 300 pounds. One person weighed well over 400 pounds and is now down in the mid-200's. They…

I want to lose 50 pounds in 10 weeks, but that isn't likely. I'd settle for 10 in 5.

I don't friend anybody, but I do read posts and frequently comment. If we don't comment on posts, they are just random, unrelated thoughts. Sometimes people NEED advice, ideas, or comfort and the message boards are safe places to go to get that. So . . . I "liked" your post, but I'll comment, too. :-)

HI, Tori. Welcome to MFP. I haven't friended anybody, but I do come to the message boards almost every day. People are very willing to answer questions, share receipes, and give advice when asked. And you'll pick up a lot of tips just by reading other posts. Congratulations on losing 5 pounds! That is an excellent start.…

Have you asked your doctor? He should be able to give you an idea of what foods to eat and what to avoid.

I am 64 and can't count the number of times I've gained and lost the same pounds. The best I ever did was to keep it off for two years. THen I quit paying attention to the scale and to what I ate, and it slowly came back, plus more. This time it won't. My plan this time is to die before I gain it back! hahahahaha
-
Congratulations! You should feel really good about achieving your goal. So quick, too. Very devoted to achievement. Again, congratulations.

Be sure you eat three vegetables and two fruits each day. There is something about the nutrients in those foods that help digest the other foods you eat. I don't lose weight if I skimp on the veggies, but I do lose weight if I eat them.
-
Welcome! You are doing well. I use these message boards as inspiration, too. The success stories are great and so are the stories about people struggling to stick to their new goal. You'll like the people here.
-
Congratulations! You made it to ONEderland! Now enjoy it because you have earned it.

Someone on another board posted ideas for how she met someone on a dating site . . . and ended up getting married. She said her profile pictures always showed her doing something: bicycling, hiking, etc. She said it made her seem more interesting, more appealing. Do you cook? Take a picture of you cooking or showing the…

I am 64 years old and worked for 40 years. I have seen this work out, and I have seen it cost people their job. It worked out when the company was large enough so that the two people weren't working in close proximity. I have seen it not work out when the dating never progressed to the marrying stage, and one of the people…

I put aside 6 months but had to increase that amount because the cost of living went up so much. About 25% around here.

In America, insurance companies will not give you property insurance if you own one or more pit bulls, Dobermans, German Shepherds, or Rottweilers. And I am sure the list will expand. In my younger days (when I was thinner and more agile!), I trained dogs professionally. One of the most vicious dogs I ever encountered was…
