  • I don't have a syrup, but I use vanilla extract and a pinch of stevia (rather than other sugar substitutes), and double cinnamon in mine. I didn't measure the extract exactly, but it was well less than a teaspoon and 1 tsp is only .5g carbs. I cooked it and then poured melted butter on it. It was to die for and I'm making…
  • For me, my goal has been to not let the lack of movement on my scale get me down. To remind myself that I'm getting healthier and my body is healing 30 years of damage. I have been successfully doing this, and truly haven't worried However, It doesn't mean I wasn't excited to get on the scale this morning and see I finally…
  • I didn't even know that coffee had potassium. That interests me, bc I was doing a little caffeine fast over the past couple days and it didn't even occur to me that it could be the change that caused the cramps to start back up. I'll have to add it back in and see if it helps in addition to more magnesium and potassium…
  • My magnesium is 500mg. Maybe I should get some potassium salt and take two of the magnesium. I always have a difficult time figuring out how to get enough potassium. I eat spinach and avocados and mushrooms, and I use Himalayan salt which I know has a small amount. Maybe a salt broth with potassium salt?
  • Love it! High five to your sister for being an awesome lady! I've got both my mom and my nephew on the keto diet and my two brothers and dad thinking about it. I have my best friend doing this with me and my other best friend who does her own thing but is championing me constantly. I've realized how much having all this…
  • Yeah, fiorucci, that's it. But they only charge $7 in my store for a package of them, and it's usually about $6 for a 24 pack of cheese sticks and another $6 for salami. While, yeah, you probably get a little more bang for your buck, it's not that bad for the convenience where I am.
  • In the same store space you find all the fancy cheeses, you can usually find these salami wrapped cheese sticks that are delicious and have a great macro ratio. Fiori is the brand or something like that.
  • Anyone can feel free to add me as a friend. Please just indicate that you are low carb/keto in the request. Love seeing people feeds and how they're doing!
  • I had my gallbladder out July of last year and didn't feel ok to go keto until a month ago. I had actually been looking into the lifestyle when that one little stone went and murdered my gallbladder (a truly emergent case...had I waited, i would have been in a really bad spot, since my gallbladder was dead, and turning…
  • This thread has made my night. Just saying. But yeah, my scale has been fluctuating a lot, but I feel better and the fact of how busy I've been and the things I've accomplished this week speak volumes to the change in my energy level. I've had 3 people comment to me about noticing I'm losing weight, and these 3 people…
  • Just wondering is it certain veggies? My cousin is sensitive to nightshades.
  • Just a thought, could it be possible you were somewhat addicted to carbs, but had managed it and once you got off the addiction and got back on, it got even crazier bc that's a common occurrence with addictions (don't know if there's science with that, but I have observed it). People who go off an addiction and then fall…
  • I had a beef bacon from US Wellness meats, and frankly, I didn't like it all that much. And I love red meat, I just didn't care for it as bacon. I'd rather stick to pork bacon and the fat on it tastes way better, imho.
  • I keep super low carb, so I allow up to 30 total and 20net. I just mostly try to get the majority of my carbs from veggies, anyway. Even with a few servings of veggies a day, I usually keep my carbs under 20, but not being so strict allows me the occasional nuts and seeds snack or something made with coconut or almond…
  • I'll send you a friend request and you can look at mine. I've been following my macros but a little busy recently, so you may want to go back to before the weekend to see my normal.

  • Well, tomorrow is a new day to get back on track. The beautiful thing about when you mess up is that you can get right back on the wagon.
  • Just a thought from my experience, I thought I was losing a lot of boob, but I realized I needed to tighten my bra band to a closer hook. Now my bra fits beautifully again.
  • Things I hate about LCHF: No ice cream. Very limited alcohol, particularly beer, hard cider and vodka with cranberry juice (only have a very occasional glass of wine) Limited fruit. No French fries.
  • I've got 2. 1) my bp was 112/72 at my checkup yesterday! For awhile, it's been hovering at 120/80 which isn't bad, but it's higher than mine has typically been. 2) I tried on a shirt that I bought over a year ago, but it was always snug and it made it shorter and I loved the style but didn't feel good in it. I put it on…

  • I love coffee. I don't drink it for the caffeine, though the caffeine addiction has been a side effect. I love how it tastes, I love sipping it, I love the smell of it. I'd never make it if I had to give it up. The BPC has made my life, and I thoroughly enjoy my drink of it every morning
  • Great job! I think the attitude towards food is one of the things that helps a lot in the long run.
  • It's so amazing! I started June 1 and I'm still content with this way of eating. Right now, I have lemon pepper seasoned wings in my oven cooking and I'm so excited to eat them.
  • A tablespoon of mascarpone cheese (at least the brand I bought) has 5g fat, <1g protein, and 0 carbs. I sprinkle some cinnamon on it and eat it as a snack (if you don't know what mascarpone is, it's used in tiramisu and cannolis!)
  • SW 329 (June 1) CW 311.2 (June 23) TWL 17.8 lbs! GW <200 I don't know if I'll make it below 310 by the end of the month, if not, that's ok, but I'm working towards it!
  • That's a great article! I never thought of it from that perspective. Thanks for sharing.
  • I'm finding my weightloss to be very nonlinear. I lost weight, then went up a couple pounds and then went down even more, then went up a couple pounds, stayed there for a couple days then dropped to a pound and a half below my low. I don't know why it does that aside from water and waste weight, but so long as the trend is…
  • The more eggs I'm eating and the less carbs I'm eating, the lower my cholesterol. Funny how that's always worked for me. It went up during a time period I was eating more carbs! Now as for the vegetables, stay away from starchy ones, legumes, corn, even carrots to a certain degree. Stick to green veggies, especially leafy…
  • One of the things that I did when I was at a fair the other day staring at maple flavored cotton candy, is I talked to myself about how toxic it was. I watched a 45 minute video someone posted in a thread here the other day about how badly sugar affects your body, and I thought of it as a poison. I was able to turn away…
  • Welcome! I started 3 weeks ago and everyone here has been super awesome and super helpful! Feel free to friend me to see my diary if you'd like. It helps to see what other people are doing and to encourage each other on the small goals.
  • To go along with @ladipoet, I was also listening to a Keto talk episode and even with sugar or carb free alcohol, the alcohol content acts the same in kicking you out of ketosis. It's the latest podcast episode, episode 24. It's a good talk show either way, they answer 3 questions per episode and I find them to be quite…
