My goal for today: avoid raiding the Halloween candy. My goal for tomorrow: eat better after my run to avoid binging later in the day

Moving on, let's not scare someone off for a simple typo, albeit a funny one :) Message / friend request sent. Hope you're having a great day.

Thank you. Luckily the weather warmed up enough that I can wait until the weekend. Thanks for the breathing insight. I might have to slow down slightly. I can talk while at jogging speed, but I'm not sure I could cary on a conversation.

I started off great, losing 34lbs in under 3 months. I then plateaued for a few months. Then gained back 7 over a month. I've recently refocused and got back on track, losing 4+ the last few weeks. You're not alone. Everyone has setbacks, for numerous reasons. Don't feel bad about it. Just refocus and move forward. What…

W1D2 went well. 3.6km I lost 290 calories according to zen labs app - not sure how accurate that is. I've adjusted my goals to add about 100 calories a day, for now. I'll see what the scale says on Sunday. I don't want to lose weight too fast. I need to do some reading on breathing. I tried a few different things today,…

I had lost 35lbs, then plateaued for a few months, then gained back 7 over a month. I was quite disappointed with myself. A few weeks back I refocused and got back on track, losing 4lbs again. Last weekend my wife bought me ice cream. The good stuff! From a creamery!! Dark chocolate!!! I said thank you. I checked…

I'm happy to help however I can. I'm recently refocused - I plateaued and gained back 7lbs over a few months. I'm back on track the last week or so, losing 4 again with more exercise / better logging. Open diary to friends, and I try to be as honest as I can with it. I'd only be fooling myself if I don't log the doughnut I…

Before I even started 5+ months ago, I knew I needed the occasional "cheat day". I like to eat! For me days like that aren't a failure. They're part of the journey that make me human. If I had taken any other approach, I'd have failed quickly, or I'd be constantly be disappointed with myself. I'm just not a tofu and…

Thank you. I'll look into it. Fashion really doesn't matter. At 5am it's still dark, and there's only a few people walking their dogs. Besides, the shoes I bought are hideously neon blue and florescent yellow. Maybe I'll find matching pants lol Who designs this stuff anyway??? Back on topic, are running tights something I…

Oct 24: 249.2 Oct 31: 244.8 I don't expect to drop as much future weeks of this challenge. I had gained back 7lbs over a few months. It's nice to be back on track!

Just finished day 1, or W1D1 as the cool kids say. Didn't die  Was -1 celsius, so I'm buying jogging pants after work today. And I'll have to locate my Bluetooth earbuds, so I don't throw my phone. But overall, I feel better than I thought I would.

I'm starting tomorrow. A little nervous because I've never been a distance runner. But I'm encouraged by everything I've been reading in here, and the c25k method in general. It's counter intuitive to run slow, but makes sense the more I read. I'm doing this for weight loss, and to establish healthier lifestyle once I've…

My wife is out for the evening with our 5 year old, so it's just me and our 3 year old. I'm grateful for the joy she has for a few drops of food colouring in the bathtub

I can change by more than 2lbs in any given day. So don't fret too much. Weigh yourself at the same time, same conditions. For example, I weigh myself every Sunday morning after my bowel movement, and before eating. Perhaps too much information, but if one pound is a worry, then be sure to measure the same thing.

Not so young father of 2 in Caledonia. I'm going to start a couch to 5k this weekend. Hoping not to pass out. Also want to get out for a family walk - enjoy some of the fall colours we're lucky to have here
-
I plan on starting a couch to 5k. Hopefully some day I'll be able enough to join a running club like yourself. For now, I'll be happy if I don't pass out.

Running has always intimidated me, but every time I look into couch to 5k, I read success stories. So what's the plan? Add each other as friends and post every day? I'm up to that. I'll get proper running shoes tomorrow and install a training app on my phone. I too am susceptible to quick binges here and there, ie eat…

My wife is bipolar too. It does pose challenges that many here will not be able to relate to ... One thing thing that works for her is step bet. Weather she's on a high or a low, she's cheap and doesn't want to lose the investment (50$ I believe). When on a high she'll go for her pokemon walks for an hour+. When on a low,…

What sort of home workout do you suggest? I don't have money to buy equipment, but I need to get into exercise. I tried a 7 minute app a few weeks back. My girls (3 and 5) joined in too, but I fell off the wagon.

I've been having a hard time the past few months. I was down 34lbs, now I've gained 5 back. Playing games on myself, because I'm still 29lbs down, some stress, and pumpkin spice season is temporary right ... I've joined a challenge. I'm trying to walk more. And I'm posting this for personal accountability. Hopefully…

I need this! I was doing really well for a few months, but the last couple months I've been creeping back up. October 24 - 249.2 pounds This is my first challenge on mfp, so I'm not sure how this works. Do I just post my weight here every Monday and that's it?

I like what ketonekaren said. Log it, and adjust the rest of the day according. I couldn't resist a doughnut last week, so I went for a long walk that evening. Maybe next time ask if you can bring your own recipe, not be nominated for something. We have a company BBQ / potluck next week, and I'm going to bring some…

I'd argue that breakfast is very important! Short term gain when you're young, will come back to haunt you when age becomes a factor! That being said, every body is different. I start every day with a full glass of water, then eat half hour or so later. Don't force it. There is no need to eat so soon after waking.

Life just happens some timestimes! Don't fret over a few days of take out. Remember that you cannot have a moment of weakness, without having been strong in the first place. But if you make it through this without takeout, you rock!

I also need to lose 50+, well 75 total, then reassess when I get there. I can relate to knees issues. No replacement or significant injury, but my knees have been painful for a few years now, amplified by standing all day at work. I'm down 21lbs so far, and I can say I've already seen a difference in my knees. I'm not sure…
