  • Hello Fabulous Females... I really wasn't very good about my goals last month. *sigh* And, I have the lack-luster three pounds of weight loss to show for it. My bad. I suppose I can't complain, too much. I did lose - just not very much. Goals For March - 1) Stay under calories + exercise EVERY day. (I was over on calories…

  • Thank you all for your kind words. I am so happy that you find it inspirational. If even one person can get that idea of "doing what works for me" to "click" then I have done what I set out to do. I wish everyone the best success!
  • The recipe Generator is a function here on MFP. I use it to determine the calories in the food I cook. you type in the ingredients - push a button - and Voila! Click the food tab - then click Recipes. I love that thing.
  • Pip! you burn those calories, Chickie-Baby! SueBDew - Aw, thank you. (Hugs!) Goodnight, Beautiful People! I am off to grab and eggplant so I can make the best spaghetti sauce ever... Step One in an experimental lasagna-like casserole with layers of Portobello Mushrooms, various Italian cheeses and some lovely eggplant meat…
  • Well, Wonderful Women Today is day 365 on MFP. Not only did I not make it to Onderland... but the scale hasn't budged in ages. *sigh* However - I have changed my plan back to what was working before the knee incident - and I must say, knowing that I have approximately 800 calories a meal makes it a lot easier to stay on…
  • Beth - I totally agree... our society has lost all sense of connection - in the true sense of connecting with other people in a real way. I think our thread actually gives us a little sense of "connection" to more than just a machine. Hugs!! Re in TX
  • KJ - there are no basements here because the ground moves... a lot. The soil is clay-based and it expands and contracts with the changes in temperature - which are extreme from one season to the next - heck, from one hour to the next, sometimes. Can you imagine a basement - surrounded by ground that is continuously…
  • Hello Marvelous Madames! I have updated my crusty old resume and submitted my application...We shall see what we shall see.... I had to take the photo off of my resume, though... It was 13 years and 150 lbs. out of date. I have my fingers crossed for a good outcome. Money is nice - and I have had uncanny luck in employment…
  • Hello, Lovely Ladies; I have a co-working on vacation, so I am being two people this week. I won't be around much. Just wanted to pop in and wave at y'all. I am so frustrated... the scale simply will not budge - so, I have changed up my calorie goals. Back in the day - I put myself down as "Lightly Active" and then did NOT…
  • Good Morning, Girls... It's two am - about the time I usually fall into bed - but, I wanted to check in with you. I had a mini NSV tonight... I did my usual Friday thing. Jammie Day - and got ready to go to the gym and then out for Tacos. DH tried to welch on going to the gym - but, I guilted him into going by telling him…
  • Denise - Welcome! You will find that there are all sorts of ladies, here - on all sorts of journeys. I, for one, have been fat for my entire life - and at 205 - I am down to the weight I was in my first year of college. Some of us are bookish - some of us are athletic - some of us are artists - some of us are dancers... We…

  • Thank you all, Sweet Sisters; For both your kind words about my photos and your wise advice about the job quandary. After pondering whether or not my schedule could be adjusted to work with that 8-5 standard work schedule (it can, just) I have determined that I am going to go and interview for the new position. The money…
  • Well, Ladies; I am having a weird day, myself. Got a call from an old friend/co-worker. He is some muckety muck, now, at a financial institution mostly known for credit cards - who has now expanded into the mortgage world... and mortgage is what I do. He says he needs and underwriter for their modification department -…
  • ((Hugs!!)) I hope that talking to the doc helps. I can't imagine you don't look obviously busy while doing all that "stuff" for the office -But, perhaps you should offer to teach her all the things that you do... that will give her a pretty good idea of why she should never, ever, let you go. I am thinking good thoughts…
  • No doubt about it, Sugar. It would be a giant party - not to be missed - but, this is a close second! Hugs!! Re in TX
  • Yvonne - I had to turn on the fans, yesterday, too. Thankfully, that's enough, for now... I try to hold out until May... but who knows whether I will be able to make it that long, this year. Pollen seems to be practically year round in my neighborhood. Thank goodness the occasional torrential downpour washes it away once…
  • Thinking good thoughts for the "best-case" result! Hugs!! Re in TX
  • A tough decision - Change can be scary. Good luck with your interview! (And let me add, I loved your tribute to your Mom, too. It made me feel as if I knew her - or at least wanted to.) ((Hugs!!)) Re in TX
