Yea I know, I added intense cardio to sort of imply shorter sessions, because it's possible for longer bouts of cardio to compromise muscle gains.

You can still gain muscle in a deficit if your lifting weights and doing intense cardio to burn the fat. Especially if you're eating adequate protein. Just have to make sure your macros are in check

That discipline is the hardest part. You have to make it a habit then you won't even need discipline. It'll just be natural.

Lean meats like chicken and fish provide vital macronutrients such as protein and healthy fats. Eating protein is a good suppressent of hunger as well so you'll get full on less food. You can still get your protein from plant based foods, but there's nothing wrong with eating meat.

Have you ever read, "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle"? It's a good book on how to lose weight and gain muscle at the same time. Very informative
