  • I made a different recipe. Well somewhat similar but I tweaked it because we didn't like the flavor, and the meat wasn't tender enough. But this time I hit it! It was amazing. Everyone loved it. Yay!

  • That does sound good for salads. And my younger daughter loves just plain chicken. That and hard boiled eggs. She is always hungry for those two things. I'll have to try poaching some chicken breasts.
  • I think they can be good for portion control, but I just don't like them. My husband loves the Thai Chicken I think it's called.
  • I'm 47 and I have a 14-year-old and a 7-year-old. Looking forward to the start of school when I'll have time to go to the gym more regularly.
  • I made a pot roast in my pressure cooker.
  • Absolutely. Weigh it and count it.
  • My older daughter loves baked apples. This isn't something I've tried in the pressure cooker yet. Thanks!
  • I agree, but I know someone who was intimidated by choosing and following most recipes, and by shopping for the right amount of each ingredient. She's learning to cook pretty well using one of these, and then I assume she'll move on. Because it is pretty expensive, and you can't get local stuff and I like to shop local.
  • It's expensive, but if you're using them to learn to cook, it'll be worth it in the long run. I know how to cook so I don't need this.
  • Flex. I've had it for ages. I used to have a Zip, but it took one too many trips through the washing machine.
  • Wow! You've only gone over once in three months? You're doing great!
  • I love Pokemon Go. I play it with my kids. Such fun! We've been walking much more too.

  • We ate early, and it is very good. Sadly, I did the calorie count (pasted ingredients into caloriecount.com) and it has enough calories that I could only have a small serving. But, leftovers! Hmm unless the husband and kids eat it all up. Maybe a lighter coconut milk next time.
  • The only time I would log house cleaning would be if I were doing something above normal, like some kind of spring cleaning chore, and it caused me to work really hard - like until I was sweating.
  • That looks delicious!
  • I keep hearing that it's 80% what you eat and 20% exercise, so I would prioritize keeping track of your calories here on MFP. But I'm sure you can do it! Just deal with each day at a time, and track your calories! :) I'm down 15 pounds in about 2 months. I am not perfect but I keep chugging away and just concentrate on…
  • I use a daily preventative and then Imitrex as needed. It's changed my life. I hope you find a solution!
  • Thank you for joining! I hope we'll get some people in here and we can all share recipes and ideas. It's as great way to cook healthy food. I got a Fagor electric pressure cooker a couple of years ago after hearing from my mom how good it was, and I love it! I have only made a few things in it though and I want to increase…
  • The omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acid ratio is better, as it is for all animals eating a diet of mainly grass/leafy pants (or a diet of bugs who eat grass/leafy plants) rather than just living off grains. But the calorie count is the same.

  • I use protein powder and protein shakes. I am hungry when I don't get enough protein, but I don't eat enough meat and other protein-heavy foods, so that's my solution.
  • Yeah - I love fruit and I could overdo it. I eat plenty of fruits and veggies but I weigh it and count it.
  • That is called Angina and I would go to the doctor about it.
  • For me, it's about how full I feel per X number of calories. X number of calories worth of sugar won't make me feel as full as the same number of calories of (for instance) eggs. If I'm still hungry, I still want to eat. I'm all about reducing hunger, because that's my biggest weight loss struggle.
  • Even kids who usually eat really well are going to have stuff like Kraft Mac and Cheese from time to time. Moms are busy and are not obligated to be perfect. We do our best. Stop policing what other people are feeding their kids.

  • Yes, this is a hard thing for me! I just try not to finish off their plates. But it is a hard habit to get out of.

  • I have protein shakes for breakfast (I have a hard time eating solid food first thing in the mornings) and the best thing I've found is putting it in a blender with some frozen fruit.
  • Mine were without pain meds too. Gallstones are a different kind of pain, and it felt worse to me. Horrible! I tried not just eating greasy foods but eventually I had the pain with pretty much anything. It's horrible.

  • Are you using skim milk in your smoothie? Switch to 2% or whole. And I agree on skipping light ranch. Just get regular ranch. It will keep you feeling more full, and you have the calories for it. Also, light salad dressings are sometimes heavy on sugars, which might be an issue for you if you want to have fewer carbs. I do…
  • I got my gall bladder out about 7 years ago and it was a very easy surgery. I went in at 7 am and was at home relaxing and watching TV by 11 am. It isn't a difficult surgery. There are some tummy issues as your buddy adjusts to not having a gall bladder, but that goes away. Getting that darn thing out was the best thing I…

  • You're still retaining water for like 6 weeks after birth. You need to not worry about weight loss for a while. But yes, exclusive breastfeeding burns about 500 calories a day. I would say that means you should make sure you eat enough that you can make enough milk. At 2 weeks postpartum, your supply isn't established yet.
