I love the 5-calorie Minute Maid lemonade. It's only in cans. Delicious.

I drink shakes and like them, but I would not be OK with someone hassling me to buy something from them. Tell the friend to back off. If you don't want shakes, you don't have to have them, and they are not necessary for losing weight.

I have Hashimoto's and I'm losing as MFP says I should. I take synthroid and my TSH levels are now where they should be. You can do it! But do keep up with your doctor and get medication for it.

I use meal replacement shakes and I love them. They do fill me up. I suppose different things work for different people but they are working for me. And I agree that they aren't magical. They're just a low calorie meal replacement. It's still about how many calories you take in during the day.

I love Halo Top. I don't know whether it qualifies as particularly healthy, but it's lo cal anyway.
-
I have to walk around the block like 7 or 8 times to reach it. Some days I have time for that, some days not so much. I'm also a mom of 2, but mine or older.

OMG I love curry. I am careful with the rice and don't get bread because I don't value that as much, but I still have curry. I'm just make sure I know how much I'm having and fit it into my day.

Look up "egg roll in a bowl." It's like the inner part of an egg roll but no wrapper or deep frying. You can put in anything from sausage to ground chicken for the meat, depending on what calories you want in it. I use a food processor to cut the veggies for it (and I add some additional veggies the recipes don't usually…

I've had the mean green juice and it is the most horrible thing I've ever ingested in my life. And I don't know how juice could possibly satisfy hunger. Though I do shakes for two meals and that does help my hunger, but those shakes are high in protein. Juice has neither protein nor fiber (as the fiber is eliminated when…

First, I would make sure I drink enough water and eat enough vegetables and fruits. And if I'm still having trouble, I'd add psyllium husk.

I never said you'd gain 70 pounds. I said some of that weight is the baby, and some is fluids from the pregnancy. There is still a noticeable weight gain, and it can be hard to take off quickly when you are the main caretaker for a baby.

You said that I made an assumption about who you would have sex with. You could be a woman. You could be LGBT. There are probably other possibilities as well. I was assuming you were a man and that you were straight. I should not make any assumptions at all, and I should know better to make assumptions about who anyone…

You said I shouldn't assume who you're having sex with, and I agree that I should know better than make any assumptions about who anyone has sex with because I'm the mom to an LGBT kid, and you think that means I am assuming you are gay. I just said that I should not make any assumptions, so I am not assuming anything. We…

I'm the mom of an LGBT kid so I should know better than to make that assumption. Sorry! Some of the weight does stay with you after you give birth. Talk to 100 moms, and every single one of them will still have weight after they give birth. You're saying every single woman who has a baby is wrong for gaining weight with…

I never said it was supposed to be permanent, in fact I said the opposite. Some of it, as I said, is the baby, some is fluids with the pregnancy, but you're still stuck with a lot of weight. Breastfeeding does help, but also makes it harder to get away to exercise. Most women don't lose the weight that quickly, especially…

I'm talking about a scenario where a normal weight woman gets pregnant, gains 35 pounds, then immediately has another pregnancy and gains another 35 pounds. 70 pounds, and then take away the weight of the babies and water weight from the pregnancy, and you're still dealing with someone who is now overweight and will have…
-
Well then you can see how much weight you can gain. 35 pounds times two pregnancies. Two 7-pounds babies are only 14 pounds of that. There's a bit of water weight lost too, but it's still a noticeable amount of weight gain, and that's for two normal pregnancies. Mine thankfully were pretty normal, but women I've known with…

I was very thin most of my life, and I'm not far from where I want to be again. I would say going through life without carrying extra weight around, and without needing extra space, does feel different, and wonderful. There's a lightness to it. Totally agree that glazed donuts taste delicious. Maybe I can split a glazed…

I also like how you said earlier that a woman should gain "up to 25 pounds" earlier when your website says the general guideline is 25 to 35 pounds.
-
This part from the website you referenced is good: "The amount of healthy weight gain in pregnancy varies. These are general guidelines:"

Spinach, chickpeas, canned diced tomatoes, a little garlic and onion, garam masala, cardamom. Very good. Also, cauliflower is delicious in pretty much any curry, and can even be grated and used as rice.

I'm not that impressed by Dr. Google citations from a search engine that is not familiar (and was probably not asked) about the myriad of complications that can go along with pregnancy.

I am 47 and I have a bad thyroid and I'm losing weight with walking being pretty much my only exercise. It's more about diet than exercise. Count your calories. Weigh your food and track everything. You will lose weight if you don't eat too much regardless of exercise.
-
I was going to say this to you.

Have you actually asked doctors what they recommend to eat during high risk pregnancies? She wasn't eating in an uncontrolled manner, and I didn't say she was. She was eating enough to gain some weight, and with two pregnancies one after the other she gained a bit. Not "unlimited pounds" but enough to notice. Women do…

Start logging every single thing you eat and drink, which should be easy if it's from McDonald's - you won't need to weigh stuff if that's all your having. See how many calories you're having compared to what MFP says you should have for you to lose weight. And then you can start by making small changes. For instance, eggs…

You have to eat a certain amount of food when you're pregnant. If you are taking medicine that slows your metabolism, and you are on bed rest, you might gain weight. It isn't a sign of weakness or laziness to do so. Pregnant women in situations like my friend are given diets they have to follow so it isn't even up to them…

Are you a doctor?

I love all potatoes. I don't think they're necessarily bad for you. That's a bit outdated advice. I love veggies in all ways. They're good sautéed, roasted, in salads, in stir fries, in curries, and raw (with healthy homemade dip.) And any other way you can think of them. You can make veggie casseroles even. If you join a…

Ha! I am 47 and have taken off much of my extra weight, but I still have some to go. Feel free to add me if you want. I am not a gym rat. I mainly just walk and count calories.
